where is that new gathering spot for the party scene other than the all too famous ibiza-goa-pangan?

The places like Goa, Pan Gan... there are no places like it. I am sure there are party places, but what happened in Goa and Pan Gan years ago is irrevocably gone... forever... you may find a new place, it's vibes will be different... and that's the beauty of being alive.

PoM-san, this place in the documentary you saw that you are talking about, that sounds like an awesome place!
judging from the posts here, since a couple people have mentioned, perhaps there is a small burgeoning trance village somewhere in the vicinity of the himalayas!
but guessing from the location, winters there are probably quite quiet, with not much happening...
Upavas-san, i guess the search for exactly the same vibes as goa & pangan may be a bit futile.
but nevertheless, the search for the new place with the different vibes; as long as it is centered around the music, dance & fun is still on,
& that search definitely is a big part of the beauty of being alive as you say!
how inexpressibly wonderful it would be to find it! (and maybe even actually help in developing it and make it become real!) |

I think (although I havent experienced it since 2001) that Koh Phangan still has its times and places. Just not the fullmoon parties on haad rin.
But smaller places in the mountains. I am sure you can still find some nice parties there.

Upavas-san, awesome! i was a bit curious about Cambodia, especially after that party post of totally resurrected for 2011 year end partie, perhaps theres a locality near where that event was held where theres a burgeoning trance village in the making??
vector_0-san, i was at phangan like 7 years ago and it was super cool trancey, and i'm sure it's still that way, where that beach and the surrounding bars, shops, and people thrive on the trance dance scene and perhaps close to being self-sufficient(?) with and by it.
what an awesome place!
i think a place like that has to be at least a bit touristy for it to continue to exist in the end; because it's probably sort of necessary to draw in people in order for the village/town to continue to prosper as a trance dance utopian hot spot. and so the people living there and helping make the scene persevere through the years can make a living somehow

if you go to thailand, I highly recommend moon mountain. The party is thrown on a raft in a lake in kanjanaburi. it is by far, the most unique and wonderful party experience I've ever had. And it's 3 days! |
