Kaz, GMS debut Album was called "Chaos Laboratory", Androids was one of the tracks on it.
And I'd say that the first CD that I heard that can be called completley "Full on" was the first 3D -Vision compilation. (or a mr. Guy Shanti said then "Cats in a blender")

I like your theory about the Progressive, I'm not sure it is exactly what happened but in retrospect it works out good.           Kinetic Honda GmbH, Worldwide Supliers of Quality noise.

The cats in a blender definition is just sheer genius.

I do consider Headcleaner to be the groundbreaker progressive album, but what about the stuff the Quirkies were doing before? certainly not full on, and definitly nowhere near as deep as the swedish guy, but why not progressive?

Borris, were you there in the Anti set in Solipse? the one ppl say gave birth to the genre?
is it true, or the elements were present in other ppl's sets?           the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist....

in the time when full on music try to be as powerly as its possible, progressive try to find new ways to enter into trance.
its just a major concepts.
but there is another point. now its sure and clean that there is progressive style of trance that mean specific forms and rules. but its not a concept that should be behind the production. so, we have progressive formulated trance and "free" progress into psy trance area.
hope its understandabled.
todays progressive trance sounds more like nontrance music, but its a progress. the typical progressive stuff hardly can be defined as progressive if u stick to concept and ideology after the music.

Liuz, I was indeed Triping my mind out below the great speaker stack on the main dancefloor in Ozora, Hungary. while Anti was Converting us all.

I'm not sure that I agree about that set being the birth of the Genre. Atmos was releasing stuff before, as well as Son Kite (The Minilogue album on NovaTekk) and more, alot of it got played at different sets at the Solipse. it was just that at that point Anti came and just played it all together in a very good set. plus alot of people Tripping below, after allready having their share of full on and looking fore some different sounds.

The diference of full-on and progressive is very hard to explain in words.

must listen to feel the diference..

Hey ... is not so dificult to fell the diference... just play attention and fell the music line keeping constant or with some small oscilations ( progressive tracks ) or... listen and make strong keeping energy and expoding tree or four times in same track ( hey , you´re listenning full on ) hehe

hey guys
big thanks for your time, you are being very helpful

now i can see the difference, but yet i think those styles may be combined in one and so we get "progressive full on" as a sub genre of trance music

check this thread, listen how its possible to have wild power, melodies, oscilations, constant tight beat, progression, explosions, psy elements and finally some kind of new ways to express energy in trance music:

define, what style of music is that.. the problem is that people say different things: some hear old school / goa, another ones say its psytrance or progressive, the rest thinking its full on..
