Oh boy.
If I saw a baggie with lots of cash at a festival I would first kick it and see if cops come out and smack my head for messing with their sting.

moki and mike i call bullshit on you both... obviously you are talking from your own experiences and i cannot argue with that, but generalizing the "scene" (despise this description... to me its a culture, that phrasing in itself is enough to describe the point of view a person is taking on this matter) - saying its all going downhill and its all commercial and crap just like anything out there - that may be YOUR experience, i can tell you that for the past 13 years i've been involved in this culture (well more like 19, but it was only 13 years ago i started doing something which was more than listen to the music  ), yea surely things have changed and the variety you have to choose from today is much bigger, but that does not mean that the spirit of this culture has disappeared, the same spirit that had brought me into this culture and why i prefer it than any other - i find it in many happenings be it a party, festival, gathering or just some friends sitting down somewhere. the fact that you are attending a trance party/festival does not mean that all of the attendees are 100% likeminded (i.e. would just take the lost wallet and walk away - while youd expect them to be all good doing and seek for the person it belongs to), but if those people see others act differently, they just might like what they see and adopt this behavior, and thats the big up side i see in such gatherings (aside of all other things i look for in them ).

okey , let's see this issue from the opposite side of my perspektive.
everything for free, incl. free love, might be some main criteria to call something open minded ^^.
that's why everything you find on partys is automatically yours. well, not what i would believe in , aber for others it may be the truth. in this case everything i said before about festivals and the psy culture is wrong too. because it is a based on the idea of a commune where everyone shares everything. gush, not my case, i think...
p.s. BUT it is a nice utopian thought, that things out there would work that fine und everyone would be unattached to material objects. you lose, you find. nothing is gone.

Yeah, it's a common situation at goa parties to lose things, and a lot of time, in spite of the fact that the music is loud, and everyone is on a trip, word does get around, and eventually the finder and loser tend to connect. Of course, the lost and found section always helps. In Goa, back in the days the most common thing to lose were you rented scooter keys, and it would be hilarious to see people wandering around starting at the ground intensely. You knew that either they were looking for their keys or they ate too much 'cid. |
