well i am coming to write this thread after some excrusiating talks with ppl in our community over the recent situation where in israel (i dont know how is it in other countrys now days) the police have increased their war on trance and nature partys...
these past few weeks since the summer is coming and there are more and more partys the cops have realy gone out of their way to close as many as they can , u can see in the partys area how many partys get closed around here every weekend and well... this sucks!!!
and after talking about this with lots of ppl lately i feel more and more that something must be done i dont realy know what that is should be but well i think this is the best place for something like this so .... i am giving some ideas that we had and hopefully u will come up with better ones or support some of ours and just maybe we will rise enough interest to do something about this
here are some suggestions:
1.make a pattiton that will be signed by the thousands of our communitey (email and otherwise) to be distributed to all kind of goverment agencys (maybe even going publicly news paper and tv...)
2.orgenizing another "give the trance a chance" party like there was a couple of years ago.
3.???

well i am realy looking forwared to replays on this one so...

hehe Wako
I'm with u all the way
u can sign as many petitions u want. Nothing will change.
And this issue has been discussed so many times here... nobody has the strength to fight this. As much as u fight it, they'll fight back.

wakko ravergirl why be so negative???
i havent been here last year but from what i heard and known from years befor that in the last couple of years the cops have let down a bit and there where much less hassle then there is now...
so something was done a couple of years back to make them step back and now that has changed and they are pushing agian and this is the point where we shouldnt just stay passive but retaurn some balance but hey thats just what i think and getting as many ppl as we can is the only way and ofcourse i believe this is the best place for getting such support...

I agree with every word and I believe we are all here to support this matter.
The situation or I think it should be called
"War against Trance" has been spreading world-wide (for example Mexico) and it doesn't stop. Something should be done, and I believe that only WE (trance community) can try to change this.
I think that it would be a great idea if we had another "Give Trance a Chance" festival or any other demonstration that would show the world that it's just not about drugs.

So, count me in

I think you're wrong - I think we need to fight the ignorance in Israel. This is why the police bust parties - they're ignorant as to what parties are all about, and according to Israeli law, there's no difference between taking an E and shooting heroin. There's the stereotype that parties are about drugs - but WE know they're not, they're about having a good time, feeling free from day to day life, and a lot of good music on really big and loud soundsystems

The moment the ignorance in Israel in this subject ends, people will understand (and DEMAND) that the police will put their resources into more important things, like trying to stop people from stealing cars, patrolling places with a history of violent crime, catching murderers - things that the police was intended for.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

yeah kaz right on buddy
for example in london the police has understood that they should patrol outside of bars and clubs that serve a lot of alchol and there is violance there while after many years they have noticed that from trance partys there is almost no violance being generated at all!!!
i just wonder how long will it take this countrys law inforcment to learn the same lesson...

i agree with asaf.
but as i said.
this fight is useless.
the ppl ARE STUPID.
nothing we can do.
just wait for all of them to die....
and hope the next generations will be more open minded....
sad but true.

i dont say give up.
we will continue going to parties.
no pig alive will stop me from doing that.
but as for doing something that will effect the public...
i think its useless...
ppl relate trance music to drugs.
and there is nothing we can do about it.
this discussion is so old.
we talked about it too much.

Just give the old "remember the Beatles concert in Israel?" line enough times, and people will understand us. I hope.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

but that's the point of this thread.
Maybe we can change all of this.
Maybe a pettition won't work, but another demonstration?
ideas??           Live for the journey, not the destination.

OK.
Here's what we do:
Unfortunately, the only sources of inforamtion for most of the public in Israel are mainly the TV, the radio and the newspapers.
Our problem is that most ppl think that trance parties and trance music are all about drugs. ppl did not get that opinion from nowhere, I think it came from somewhere (tv,radio, etc.).
To be able to change that we just need a good publicity.
For example: sometime ago somebody told me about an article in Kolbo (Haifa's local newspaper) about guys from Haiga who make trance with guitars. "Finally" I thought to my self, only to open it and discover that the guys they were talking about weren't Dark Soho, but Kamora (the new talents discovered by the "legendary trance master" Oren Barkan).

We have a great music industry right here in Israel and nobody even knows about it.
What we should do, in my humble opinion, is to encourage the media here in Israel to talk about trance music, especially Israeli trance music (maybe send them info or new CDs).
I think it will cause a chain reaction that would lead to a serious image-change of trance in the eyes of the general public, and the police.
