Just face the fact generations change,times change and so do styles!!Theres a point were a new"thing"has to come out!!
I mean music wise not only has trance changed but all the categories of music have !!
I mean now we have rock-hip hop mixed together,hip-pop(not hop),rock pop,country music with r nŽb!!And the list goes on!! Things change and we can change with it or stay with the oldies and not accept the new vibe ,generations and styles!!!
I mean we sound like our grandparents "in those dayz we didnt listen to noise, pots and pans being banged together, we used to listen to quality music with soul and spirit" bla,bla,bla..!!
Its simple things change and weŽve got to open our eyez and see the fact,that we also change and so does our music taste!! :) :) |

i don't know guys, i feel the vibe .
sometimes i get the feeling that everything sounds the same and lacks any emotion or feeling, but it's me usually and no the music .
i can give examples in both israely and foreign music from here till tomorrow .
but i must agree that a lot of aspects in trance culture became trendy and commercial . |

well, i think dojo is quite right here...
our mentality needs more powerfull music... something which we for sure havn't recieved lately...
let's check this out:

it's not the same...
best morning i ever had was with a SUPA oldie.... AOT - octopus ( still get the shivers near the end when the huge build up crashes and makes u go tottaly nuts!)
it's the music guys...
we need it to hit us harder... all these new grooovey BOM TSS BOM TSS shakalaka guitar pings and pongs are great.... but they don't leave u sweating and crying..... old goa hits, old israeli trax do this...
try dancing to the buildup on MFGs - Overload (that's the name right?) u can go fucking nuts at the 1st minuet!!! "Password enter!" yalla ze muzika! :D
with all the shit going on i want something to really make me forget where i am and make me explode from within..
most of the old israeli tracks make you feel this way.. the new stuff... nah... :(
P.S: N.P - Cosma - Sleep Of Peace - this is so fucking viby!!! (6:40.. man.. i wana cry...!!@!#@!##!@ love this!!)
All we need now is a fucking full on track with this kind of vibes and we are done! :D
does anyeone want to do it with me and my musical knowledge which is worth a bag of shoko? :)

This is a line of conversation I see happening all over and sometimes it makes me feel quite sad. So many trance musicians worrying about style and genre and categories. It seems to me that the original vibe was there because the musicians didn't give a shit about any of that stuff. They just sat down and said "Hey, let's make some cool music!" I may be wrong, but I reckon that's what it is. There are still groups out there today that have the same attitude, and I've certainly heard some tunes that make me want to *explode*!! :-) |

Ron, i half agree with you :) I cant live without listening about 3 hours to old Goa Trance tracks.
Etnica - Alien Protain

and when i think about it, i cant even compare my love for Goa Trance to the new stuff. Goa Trance is a part of me that even ill want to forget i wont. the new stuff is great but you dont remember the tracks after a year or somethin'. lets just say - im almost sure everybody here will never forget AP - People Can Fly, Powergen, etc.
i even listen to those old tracks of Laughing Buddha (still does it to me)
and in the other way, i accept the change of the music. even tough i really want Goa days back. The new music gives you somethin' new to experience. and not to get stuck with the same sounds too much.

Agreed , BUT .
There are some reallllllllllyyyy good new stuff (e.g Avihen's new CD :)) ,
But new artists just repeat the history , make more junk .
I dunno ... I heard some new stuff somewhere , and it shitted :/
If that's the future of trance then our doom is coming .
I mean ... I dont think Avihen or nevermind who are gonna give us the same vibes with new stuff within 20 years or so .
Where has ppl's creativity gone to ?
Ok , I never liked A"P (yuck) , but , yes , MWNN , power source , MFG , hallu etc etc .
Jee , I hope there'll be some new artists soon , CREATIVE ones , leaders , not followers .
I think today's artists should have their own styles and samples etc , not overdo other ppl's work .
I dunno ... trance need some new waves of sound .
I got so many old trax that make me shiver whenever i hear them
(also tech trance ... e.g Son kite - back beyond rotation or Wizzy noise's early trax etc ) .
Looking forward for a brighter , happier future .

i like the old tunes more too. i don t know, but the most of the new tracks aren t spacey/kewl 2 meditate. they ve lost the atmosphere. the thing which makes you fly.
the new ones are more 2 shake 2, jump around. but not float around, u understand i think.
@ a party, i d like to have a bit of both, but defenetly more old-style ;-)

hello all
well i don't think the 'viby' music is gone, maybe just asleep for now. the year 2000 had some amazing albums in it, Jaia's blue synergy, Infected's Classical, Juno's Shango etc, and 1999 was an amazing year for albums (just listen to "family of light")
maybe this year is just a small phase towards greater music. when you say "where all the emotions had gone ?" do you refer only to 2001? a year is nothing. maybe in 5 more years you could say this. i agree that a few years ago the music had more feelings to it but another thing is that some of us were newer to the scene it (including me). and as the years come by we develop great expectations. hopefully next year (or this one) things will get better (though things are not that bad imho)

Why are you guys stuck in a time-warp? If you like AP, Transwave, MWNN, etc, that's fair enuff -but that music isnt coming out anymore. And that's bcoz it's not 1994-6. I remember those days - good parties, good sounds and good vibes, music sounded different, it had a different energy and a differnt feeling. That's fine - it was different times - things evolve and change.
Parties are different now, but enjoy them for what they are - still good vibes, good music and good times. It's 2001 - make the most of it!
