What's a thread exactly?

Most probably this topic will be deleted soon but I have a question to ask.
What's the proper definition of a thread on isratrance?
I just posted a topic called Frequency surfer to see if any people know about this guy and to recommend him and it was deleted after few minutes cause it was a thread!
Can someone help me and explain why please?

hehe, welcome to geek kingdom - i shall be your guide:
thread n.-
A set of posts on a newsgroup, composed of an initial post about a topic and all responses to it.
so in lamen's terms - a thread is a started topic- probably the reason yours was deleted was due to the fact there was an existing thread (topic) already and you shouldve searched first and posted within.

Ok guys,
thank you all for your lessons.
Now I am becoming an Isratrance pro.
I just need to learn some other things though:
1) - Many of you are telling me to use quoting right.
What am I doing wrong? - Can this can be called dyslexia? hehhhe....
2) - Where do you guys get all these fummy faces and expressions from?
