I am asking this because:
Once I could tell almost in any track who is the artist without looking at the cover. And today it's impossible. In all styles of Trance.

Maybe it’s the labels who direct the sound and the artist has less creating freedom not like in the old days?

Some of us actually still have our own unique sound. There are artists out there that have their own sound far from the copy & paste "industry"

For example: if someone wants to be in Chemical crew: must he copy Skazi? Or in the first place his music was inspires by skazi and that's why he is in Chemical Crew.

I hope I cleared my Q.

yes you did because in your first post you said that it's impossible to find anyone with their own style no matter what genre of trance it is...

And that's very wrong mate

I just meant that in the old days the artist were more different one from another.
5 years back.

Youre absoloutly right man, looking 3-5 years back, you could deffintly tell the diffrence between artists, when its much more rare now to listen to a track and say "umm, I think its Skazi, or maybe Exaile? Perhaps its Talamasca" (Random artist names), its getting boring...

Now instead of buying cd of each artist, you can buy 1 album from 1 lable and it would cover it all for you, cheaper :x

Nah just kidding, but you still can tell some apart, like Azax Syndrom, Penta, Abomination, Infected Mushroom, Tickets..

Maybe it have to do with the fact you expended the circle of artists that you listen to? Since now you know so many artists then you knew lets say 5 years ago..

Could it be the reason?           Peace & Love!

I don't think so.

I think that it got something to do with it, I do agree that alot of artists sound the same, but there are much more artists, everyday theres a new artist, in 1998 there werent so many artists like we have today, so its made a diffrence..

I guess its not the only reason, but I do believe that it got something to do with it..           Peace & Love!

Yes.
It can be a small part of the reason. But not the reason Itself.

Finally we agree on something =)
The other part is probably that the "new" artists like the "old" artists so much,
so they are trying to create music as good as them..

Respect & Boom!

The line is very very thick I guess..
But lets say Chaos Theory (as an artist heh) is inspired by Saylum (as an artist), but only him! then Chaos Theory would start creating music very similer to the kind of music that Saylum is creating..
But - if haos Theory is inspired by Saylum, Azax Syndrom, Shift, Tickets etc, then the music would be in a more unique way I guess, perhaps he would still try to copy the artists, but now it would be harder to copy everyone, so it wouldnt sound like only 1 artist I guess..

Am I getting close? Or Im just full of it? =)           Peace & Love!

You got 9 points from 10 on this test.

Now I need to see what other ppl think about the line.
