-psy is the easiest way IMO to fall in the "trance" state....blissfull state......because of the constant beat and the evolution this music is always following...innovative...(for eletronic music)
-most of the people are not materialistic......down to earth....and have bigger and cleaner souls....(with exceptions like evrywhere)!!
-my favorite music is psy then funky and jazz; all are complicated challenging music.....sounds, flow, improvisation, and unexpected....if you go compare them you will find similar aspects......
im sure that the people listening to jazz etc (provided thay like dance- eletronic music) if they have to indicate a prefered style will choose psy....
@ who got driven away by the people in psy talking about spirituality i suggest going to jay z and tell him what nice bling chain you just bought...loads of diamonds gold etc.....is it any better?!.....(Im sure an ex metal head can have some difficulties answering the question....and dont say that in concerts you never tried (obviously drunk) to reach for the band after 100m of surfing on the crowd...i did!!!.....

Sure i love my smokes and the occasional visits to space but in reality it is all about the music. Its special ability to stroke a chord so deep inside me that nothing else i have ever come across has been able to reach. And also its ability to transport me to a place i couldn't visit otherwise, with other genres of music

For me, listening to psytrance is the best way i can stay out of this materialistic world, people and thus enjoy the whole new different experience 
Though its been little time i started listening to this music, i feel the positive energy in me n keeps me high with peace... 
It really takes quite a long time for a normal person to understand what this music is all about and make them go nuts with the bpm..hehe... however once a person understand and enjoy the beats surely one would say "PSY TRANCE ROCKZ"  n so will i say ..it definitely rocks....

All one needs to do is look at the influences cited by psy producers and you notice quickly that things like "classical" often come up. This is no coincidence. A good trance track should flow like a piece of good classical music.
As far as production quality goes, psytrance is way up there among the EDM genres. The number of threads about bassline and kick production on this forum are a good indication of just how hard it is to make a good psytrance kick and bassline. We're talking about kick and bassline *only* here. I've personally spent hours and hours eqing a bassline to try and get the right harmonic balance. Getting a kick that snaps with authority? These are difficult production tasks themselves.
Add in the complexity of a good lead, thick atmospherics, and the intelligent, rhythmic interplay between these elements and we're talking about intelligent music which requires a very high level of skill to produce.
For me, the reason psytrance "does it for me" is that I understand that the producer selected, out of the full range of imaginable timbers, a hypnotic set of sounds and wove them together artfully to create something which is truly trance inducing. I find it simply incredible. |

the music is free of lyrics and i think everyone is able to identify with a certain style and express the way the feel about the music by stomping away!!!! you feel the music control the way your body flows...!!! |

I have to contradict: I think, there's a lot of Psy Producers that have a comparable musical level than a Psy Rock Jam Band (especially Ozric to me sometimes sound a little bit cheesy, but gusto is different...). In Trance music, it's only used in another way, more dancefloor orientated. As another comment before said, ONLY to produce a Psy Bass takes loads of time.
And: the more complex a groove gets, the less hypnotic & trance-inducing it is! Could never fall into Trance listening to Jazz, hombre
For this reason, 4 to the floor's just perfect!

very different genres sure .. but nobody in the psy scene comes anywhere near to ozrics musically , technically.. anything .. plz dude .. wtf u comparing .. mega raver vs hendrix ?

anyway, I compare nothing. I just know that it's not true that psy producers in general have less musical skills than the guys from the "good old days" or whatever, that's nonsense, like comparing the skills of Mozart and Roger Waters.
