What is it about Psytrance....

So, I go to a digital audio engineering school, and many many times I get condescending reactions when I say I produce psytrance.
There are many music-snobs that think "computer boom boom boom" music is not really music.
They talk about jazz, organic instruments, music theory etc. etc.
Now I have no problem with these people since I know what I like and why, and I don't need to defend my opinion and taste, plus I've been to regular concerts/festivals and to psy festivals, so I know the difference. 
But when I think about why I really like it I can't pinpoint it. Is it the music? Is it the culture? The people? The spirituality? The travel, the nature, the psychedelics, The deco, the sum of all this?
What is it for you that's got you so 'entranced' with Psytrance? And if anyone knows anything scientific about this I would LOVE to hear it. Like, why around 146bpm?
Of course I like all kinds of music, but at the height of my dancing fun; it's always psytrance.

sound great to me tho lol  i know its stupid music mostly (80%) but i love the vibes (of the other 20%) 
some peaple realy realy realy love to not have the beat banging all throu the track like metronome 
i meen , groove is groovy , and funk is funky , and a good beat is good beat, but what is a kick goes like metronome ? its nothing of those
so this what make (other) peaple not to like it , and i can understand them actualy , try to compare the genious ozric tentacles to ANY psytrance (exept eat static which is same peaple) easy to notice they are much better skilled musicians , the groove is by far more complex and hypnotic (not 4x4) , and not to mention their live act is not dumb blonde twist knob and make face of sucking a cock on stage , but actualy 7 great musicians on stage playing live in instruments.
beside all that , personly i like psytrance in party , ozric and gong and air at home
(here is my progy problem , its too "beat" for home , and too slow and empty for dancefloor.. i guess monday in the sakaya drinking some beer and meet friends is just perfect for it) www.sattelbattle.com

The key word there was 'snobs'. Next time just ask them to produce a song WITHOUT a sheet to tell them what notes to use and tell them where the song will come to a crescendo and see how they go. I wouldn't even worry about them. If they can't see past the fact that if you were to all get together collectively and use your energy in a positive way you would probably learn alot from each other then you just have to let them be.

For me it's all about music. Simply the energy and the vibes from psytrance are matched with my energy level, that's why for me it is kinda soultouching.
It moves me no matter where I am or How I feel.
The rest (culture, people, travel, nature, the psychedelics,...) is part of a package which is coming along with the music
I love psytrance
I love the artists and people
and I love isratrance for bringing us closer

well psytrance is like the folk music of one of the tribes of the cyber generation. there are many tribes just like the old times. in old times people made use of whatever they could find to make music and were not restricted to musical instruments. similarly psytrance is made using whatever software one can lay their hands on. the reason i think its like folk music is because its simply about rhythm that creates a feeling of togetherness or harmony...to really enjoy folk music one must be able to dance to it. traditional musicians feel computer generated music is no music at all because they are unable to compete with its complexities. most of the electronic music is a result of complex mathematical equations, while traditional music does not necessarily depend on mathematics that much. this place electronic music on a higher pedestial in the scinetific community. it is the music of the future and the future is now. what was science fiction at one point is now scientific reality.

its in my D.N.A 
now realy, i can start writing about how i enjoy good kick,
how good bassline is me FUEL,
how every effect makes me smile,
how every melody carrys me to another (better) place,
the colorful vibes that keeps me dancing, the good people, the smiling faces, the culture, the psychedelic decorations, the travel,
but ill say that i just love it
not everybody have the same taste..

I also finished a audio engineer school here in Switzerland and her eit is the same 
But it is normal, if you see, goa is more about having one sound system, dj's or liveact( laptop for the most or little more ), so there where is the job for the audio technician?
He has no micro tu put on, no cables or little if are not the organisers who put up the sound....
And also musically psy trance belong to techno a 4/4 with some effects and some melodies..... you can't compare that to a classical composition or a jazz complex...
That doesn't mean psytrance is shit it's just music oriented for the dancefloor.... to bring you in a state of mind by repetition and regular beat, with strange sound and so on, something totally different from the concept of "normal" music....
