You think so? I feel as if you miss the point. I have sometimes heard people suggest that any kind of focus on developing skills is taking away from the music somehow, but nothing could be further from the truth. With classic technoshamanism--mixing trance as a magic spell--it is absolutely vital to deliver a seamless stream of music. If a DJ is trainwrecking or causing other unwholesome perturbations they are breaking the spell and pushing the audience members out of the trance.

Fame is something else... I don't think it is a result of a yearning for better technical abilities.
