What if 'DJ' Was a Degree?

Once I didn't care about the DJ's skills. The music at the party was the most important thing for me and not how its being plaid. But there are ppl who dare to call themselves Djs when their have no mixing skills at all and their sets sound just bad and random. No names here. I don't want it to be personal, so let's keep it general.

What if a DJ was something like a degree? Like doctor or professor. Now I know it sounds funny, but anyway, don't you think that it could have been better if a person who wishes to call himself a DJ, would be able to do so just after passing a test and getting a diploma for a profession?

if the set sound bad and random im surprised the dj you are talking about is getting any bookings unless its at his own parties.

I think the diploma youre talking about could be to check where he/she has been playing previously and try to get some reviews before you decide to book the person.

People book people in exchange for being booked.

Damn it, here in Brazil people book international artists in exchanging of making a track together and "becoming an artist".

The scene is shit, everyone can buy CDJs and say they are DJs... In fact, if you download some killah albums you are already a DJ.

It's weird, half of the crowd are DJs, the other half are artists, the other half are label owners and the other half are party organizers... And my math is right...

Talking is easy. I want to see people doing it right.

Generally it's a good idea.

Maybe in an ideal world, it wouldn't be a degree but a permit, something like a driving license.

You'll be tested only for your technical abilties such as how to beatmatch, beatmix, etc.

this is correct, also the "book people and then they book me"is corect..
but this fainomenon is not last longing..if someone is not good,he wont last long, one year, maybe two ,and then no more bookings.

I think real dj can show that what is love in the dance floor and "fake" dj"s can get gigs so that degrees is not possible this scene

And of course its nice to dance when dj have mixing skills and do that right
before I never hear anything but now days when I play too . I really heard if dj dont have skills

Hmm sorry my english but I hope u understand what I mean ?

I think that wholeness is very important and its all what u do when u play ,
but that"s obvious for everyone.

And I hope we all can get a change everyone who really wanna do that and have talent to do that : listen :

Thats true and there is a lot of talent djs but with not too much connections and thats sucks cause here in israel ppl thinkabout names and not share stage for newcomers too bad hope this kind of tules will changes and then some talent ppl can share their head with the scene
