big thanks to everyone who answered but i think most of you are missing the point.
i didnt mean this to turn into a
anti-fullon vs whatever war ,i hardly know what that even means.
i asked what you guys think is the best style to get things going in a party , thats it really.
and i dont accept the negative talk about the luna , the crowd may be mainstream but i think its a bit sad to start disrespecting the place. a lot of people work very hard for tehse parties and its certainly a wonderful place to party. maybe its time to look at the positive things not just the negative ones no?
by the way we at the LUNA had the honor of having HUDA-G play for us and he gave a totally incredible set , i was wetting my pants !! big thumbs up!

for the last year or so have been playing psychaddelic breakbeat sets - meaning big beat tracks with psy elements (luke chable , BT , that sorta stuff) and sometimes some progressive trance also.
Well mate...looks like you already have the answer to you question...Love to have some breaks and some deep prog in the begining of a event.

well shahar my freind i guess the question for your answer is not a spesific style but a spesific aditud in blending styles and a flow in the set wich the starter dj cen make.. think of it as a girl that u go to bed with..if u will start it good and have the righat timing for evry movment u make and u will be gentel and awere for her needs then she will be yours and then u will make the ground for the rest of the nighat.. (haha sory for the sexisem its just for the example..) so i guess its how and when u do more then what u do/pley,of corse u cen not start with full on but much styles are aveilable for starting its just how u put it tugether and in what flow!

well dear "Chaos Theory",when when u are looking for a nighatish party opening music then it depends on how u look et it cuse when u sey that u like only full on in the morning it dus not sey that artist that make prog are emidiatly sutibale for the nighat ! same in full on and in prog some are dark and ghotik and some are open and melodic some sutibolle for morning and some for the nighat..

Any way. The dream party imo is like that:
Chill out/Ambient---------->Brake beat------>tech------progg -------and full on (But the topic was not about145 bpm so full on is optional.).

I would like to hear some Asian Massive mixed with some break beats . Eg..
1) Some Talvin Singh and J Viewz for teh first hour...
2)..then progress into some funky psychill like the new Sphongle..
3).. Bring it back down to an even more relaxed state with some HUVA network...
4).. Build it with 2-3 tracks of Talvin's Crazy Tabla machine..
5).. Finally drop in some ticon and play atleast 40 mins of Progg peakin with Son Kite - ON Air.
