I think no matter where you go, some people will never be satisfied with the parties in their own country's.
It's like that everywhere.
Write a topic and ask every country and they will say the same..

But yes many organizers are only in it for the money, and i can understand that it's not nice if the parties does not give a profit, cause then the parties will die out, so of course they have too think about the money. Live act's and good dj's are not for free.

The reason why ya'll people think that parties outside your country is better is cause it's new.

I have not been to mexico yet, so really i can't tell anything, but i am just saying how things are in general all over the world.

I heard of a very prominant european act refer to the mexican scene as very agressive almost violent
and not playing there again....

But I m sure there is good people everywhere.

he is totally right...its the same problem everywhere and i see how the word "arsim" become familiar to everyone....people that bully others around and ruin all the vibes...the best thing is to stay in your corner and just to ignore them...like they're not even there....

if you look way back in the 60's,70's they had the same problems as well with people and gangs that coming with bad vibes...

Holas Psy Freaks

My First Goa party in Mexico was for me during my 5 months traveling trough Mexico and Guatemala in the Year 2001, close to Mexico D.F. forgot the name from the party and organizer, but line up was surprising me, it was GMS/Sun Project/ Kok Box/ Dj Tristan and many others, I’m not able to remember me for everything J
But anyway, my impression from the party was finally good on the End, lot of travelers around the world where joining too the party, and many crazy Mexicans from D.F. and around the city.
I think Mexico is anyway a special case, 1. World and 3. World is very close together, so my impression was that the most Mexican visitors are from the upper class, with loot of money from papi and mami, there where just consuming and was for me more a fashion celebration then Goa spirit.
But the opposite where those Mexicans selling their stereo radio and everything just to come to this festival and celebrate the real full on GOA spirit. Those crazy Mexicans I will never forget, it was just amazing how their shared everything to the others, including me and my friends as foreigners.
I had many time feelings like I had in Switzerland on partys during the early Techno Trance time 1990 up to 1993, just lovely.
But too I saw so many very very Jung peoples, totally full on mescaline and other stuff, not taking care for them self, and thinking about that the party once is finished.
But I whish you all love and peace for the next years, growing scene will always change their face.

Never having been to mexico i cant comment on the scene itself, but i do know several things i have been told by many big name acts and there thoughts on it

What they hate most is that there music is always stolen when the play in mexico. Almost every gig, there cds get taken, normally while they are playing, so its come to the point where acts show up with 5 or 6 copies of the same cds
MP3 piracy is as bad in mexico as in goa, so the sound quality of most local djs is bad compared to the international acts
and quite often promoters leave it up to the acts to figure out where the party is and how the hell to get to it

What they love most is the raw maniac energy. Mexico is supposed to have the craziest most energetic dancefloors, and so many people that are just super into it

I cant say more not having gone myself, but someday

pure maniacs... it's such a rush dancing with these people... 10 times more intense than the mosh pit at that Deicide show in '94.

Having been around the trance scene in mexico for a couple of years now, I can give you my first hand perspective.

The psy-trance scene has grown so much that it's almost become a trend, you hear psy-trance just about everywhere and thus comes the mass of people who become interested in this music.

Alot of people in mexico do have the money to go to raves, alot of others don't but some have the will (not that it's a good thing) to get into the party by any means possible. it is sad to say most people who don't pay the entrance fee sure do pay for their drugs and lose themselves for howeer long the party lasts.

All in all though, most parties in Mexico do have a very cool vibe to them, as mentioned before, the music here is very very energetic, and some of our national live acts have amazing stuff (mindelight, amadetzana, d-tek, sharigrama, etc...).

See you at the next party, somewhere.. someplace.

i have been into the trance scene since 1999, almost when it started with many parties at the ajusco. and im the first to admit that many thing have declined since those golden years. maybe the productions are bigger , but the magic is lost. most of the crowd that go these days dont have a psyculture (or no culture at all). also being a country in which the money is not distributed equally among the people, it is logical that things like these can happen. iknow these is no excuse, but there are things u can do, like be more careful with ur gear or really get to know the people (locals) u hang out with. but generalizing like that (im talking about that say they arent coming mexico again), its pretty childish and sad. there are many magical places and people u are just discarding , just because u had a bad experience. anyway u wont be missed. and my advise is to go to other places rather than mexico city, psychedelic scene is bigger than just the capital here in mexico.

Mexico is an unbeatable destination, culture, spirituality, intellectuality and great traditions... A place to have fun, educate yourself and hang out with some warm hearted yet strong people(it might be the varity of chilly...hehe)!!!
Anybody here remembers the Valle de Bravo event? marked as the 1st only trance event? Family tree? Total Eclipse and Green nuns Events, marakame(first fest in mex) and indeed time and space.1.... now things gone a bit further where u can still find the stomping party but with some full chaos ones too.....

lt is like a child, they are all so nice when young up to an age..... but in order to be good people once grown, mostly responsible are the parents....

yeah but im sure the social conditions in the country of origin of that "prominent european act", are just a little different. if cant stand the heat, maybe then u should skip this scene.
