Well, I don’t know much about South African parties, but as I see it the South African wave of new artists peaked a few years ago. I really liked the early twisted nigttime stuff from artists like Damage, Rinkadink, Shift, Artifakt etc, but apart from the first album from Rinkadink, I haven’t really liked any of their releases in the last few years, and as I see it, a lot of them lost their uniqueness from their first releases. That's my impression anyways.

Nano records are still releasing quality full on though, and although there’s not really anything groundbreaking in their music, I consider them one of the best full on labels around. Especially Protoculture has become an absolute master for those super-uplifting morning themes, and despite his music isn’t really that unique he’s one of my absolute favourite full on artists on the scene today.           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

I think Protoculture's album 'Refractions' is excellent. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere on this forum that he's a South African artist. His production is great and the psy delicious.

Yep. Protoculture deserves a mention with his great melodic and uplifting tunes.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

'Protoculture'.
Nate Raubenheimer is one of the hottest properties in psytrance today, playing gigs all over the planet to packed-out indoor and outdoor crowds. Who foam at the mouth. Literally. I've seen it. Protoculture makes the kind of trance even your mum likes. It's got melody, it's got drive, it keeps pumping and never veers into cheddar territory. In short: credible, smooth, flowing trance with melodies.

'Artifakt'
Like this act too a lot. There newer stuff has kind of diverted to a more mainstream idea tho, but im game for any of his stuff.

'Hydrophonic'
Great Twisted , funky full on stuff from these two guys also.

'Shift'.
His new album has a fine remix of NiN's 'Closer'.
Like the superb powerful vibes he ensures. Smooth operator this one.           ~*** You can tell By the way i use my walk, Im a woman's man, No time to Talk***~

Nano Records is really delivering good morning stuff.

But how can you forget about Alchemy Records? These guys are releasing groundbreaking music, specially Rinkadink.

South Africa is for me feels very fresh and interesting, especially the stuff from 2003 and forward.

Matt aka Artifakt is one of the most original act in the scene today

Shift is a personal favorite! and i hope he will keep bringing us neat stuff

cheers south africa

What about Twisted System?
I like most everything Ive heard off Timecode, "The Turning" has some real cool trax on it, the trax by Tickets and Treskell on that alblum are real tasty. In general the stuff from South Africa Ive heard is very deep and soulful, be it on a 'happier' or 'darker' tip. In general I have been very impressed with the stuff from South Africa ive heard.
Definately hope to visit the party scene there some day!

yeAh SHIFT,RAM,SCORB ...for me they produce deep melodic psy..which is killer!!!            “What we need is the development of the Inner Spiritual man, the unique individual, whose treasure is hidden in the symbols of our mythological tradition and in man’s unconscious psych.” - CJ Jung
