Rinkadink
I think that those artists are amaizing, everyone of them has his unique style, and I like them all very much...
About the parties, I dont realy know since I've never been in South Africa..

My personal opinion is that SA have fast become one of the leading nations for psy-trance music, they have such great producers down there.

I definitely think SA has some of the greatest psy producers. Always waiting for new music to come out of there.
Don't forget Xatrik - his new stuff is really tearing up those dancefloors.

Good to know that our boys are well loved out the country!!
I personally love the tunes of Artifakt, Proculture, Hydrophonic, Commercial Hippies, Rinkadink, Broken Toy and Shift!  Seen ALL of them live as well!

Recently, I would have to say most of them seem to be headed in the commercial direction, which I hope is only in my imagination, because I personally feel the South African guys as a whole are the last of the "Pure Psychedelic formula", while remaining unique in their individual ways. They are agressive, while maintaining melody and atmosphere. Groovy and evoke raw emotion.........

theres some killer music and new style of sound from this country and some very talented producers.. mainly
Artifakt, Shift, Phyx, Damage, Broken Toy, Tickets, Xatrik, Slug, Rinkadink and am sure in coming years this list will keep growing.

I think the SA scene is very interesting. Each artist has a fairly distinct sound, and they all do it well.
My faves are Shift's albums, Rinkadink's new one (very warm and nice). Twisted System, and Penguin Rebellion.
Protoculture is good at what he does, but gets a bit too euphoric for my tastes. |
