don't book them again.

every event producer should have a secret black-list in their head.

after doing 50+ events, i don't recall every good dj or live set, but i most certainly remember the ones who screwed up the equipment, played terrible music, no-showed, or were total dickheads.

one time, i had to remove a dj from the decks that was on my blacklist when he quietly snuck into the booth when another dj missed their set.

it's a matter of professionalism. even when it's a no-money situation, everyone needs to act professional. no one really makes any money doing events, especially me. so i don't have the patience for people screwing it up.

Well said Maer, your right it's all about professionalism.

But then there's always the time like in Blue Spectral Monkeys case here where fate throws you an oddball. I promote a night in England, Stereo Chemistry on the whole things have run smoothly but there's always the odd time, like when a very well know London based full on Dj guested and played probally the worst dj set I've ever seen in my life. Or once when some guys who did visuals (who's work I'd respected ) turned up and has the night went on there stuff got visually darker and darker, images of violence etc and other stuff that really didn't suit the psy trance enviroment. You do have to just put a black mark against them and learn from the expierience. Blue Spectral Monkey as you said you should get some Dj's who are more dedicated to psy chillin'.

You know what,
you should have secret 'signs' language with every DJ...

stroking the ear = raise volume
stroking 2 ears = lower the volume!
stroking the head = wtf are you playing?
stroking legs = raise bpm
hands up = i give up do whatever you want

good one!

Well most of the stuff I wanted to write, have already been said by various post above... Hmm what to say to such situations...

I dont think that those djs got paid right...? Definately out of the question...

I hope your next acts will be more rightwise ...

have a fire pit under the dj booth (like dr evil in austin powers) and if the music is offending and only on cos the dj wants to be super man, then a swift tug of a lever should ensure them to a firery end...or just terrible. terrible burns.....THAT should put a stop to that or have a wild tiger kept tied up close by ready to maul whoever disturbs the chill space...its not about bpm, its about what the music is trying to do....anyway that should sort it...contact me if if anyone needs to hire a wild lion.....peace

i´m against full on trance or also playing nice trance tracks for long time.

but i´m also against use chill area only to sleep.

chill area is a very interesting space. is like a knowledge area, because with the good music we can explore conversation, we can explore art, music, people, nature, and so on.
so if you play full on i think that´s the end of experience, automatically you send people away back to main floor or to their cars sleeping better.

about your attitude with your friends.
nothing like a good conversation. and u said they are your friends, so there´s nothing to fear about talkink with them.

cheers!
