Simon Posford for sure makes amazing sound....
Infected and Space Cat, they make amazing sounds although I dont much care for the music they make.
But the one that is the most powerful in a mind twisting way combined with unique and distinct sounds would have to be Ghreg on Earth. Hearing his set on big speakers is a whole new experience, unlike anything else.

I would have to say that Ocelot spends some of the most and least time on his sound design. Every sound he makes is from the basic patch on his synths and he manages to make some really interesting sounds with them that are just sometimes out of this world, but at the same time it doesn't take him that long to come up with those sounds. For him if it takes him too long to come up with the sound he wants or spends too much time tweaking one instrument, he'll scrap it and try something else.

BohdiSattva 13:20 really spends a lot of time on his sound design. Not to mention he uses reason.... Anyone that can make the sounds he does just using reason, has to spend a shitload of time on sound design.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Yes this two are doing great sounds. And there are lot of other great artists at the moment who do crazy sounds. One of them is you,Mubali. I don't know how much time people spend on their sounds, so maybe all the sounds are made in minutes or even seconds

Thanks... I have been really trying to explore my sound design a lot more and have been dedicating a lot more time to my sound designs for my new tracks. The Danish artist too really are an inspiration for sound design. There are some sounds that the Grapes make that are completely extraterrestial..           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Yes, Scandinavian music like Texas Faggot and stuff from old Hux Flux are so good and unique. Ok, it still takes me while to grasp Faggot's style.           ~*** You can tell By the way i use my walk, Im a woman's man, No time to Talk***~

I was really impressed by Jirah's soundscapes, the way they evolve from section to section. Ghreg on Earth is great at creating subliminal menacing atmospheres. I hear lots of original sounds from lots of producers, GMS and Astrix certainly among them.

Lots of elaborate breaks, it almost seems like a contest between producers as to how best you can "fake out" the dancers with the lead-ins :^>

Let's just say that I only occasionally save synth or effects patches which means I reinvent the wheel each time it comes to making a new sounds. Helps out in the variety.

The best results are, like Mubali mentions, is to take perhaps even mundane synth line audio files and run them thru a wad of software processing plug-ins. Ableton Live is a great program for this.

Could spend a lifetime doing sound-design.

I'd have to say Onnomon. creative, intelligent psychedelic trance. Every track has it's twists and turns and constantly evolves.
Every track.
The man puts alot of time and thought into his compositions (or it's just diving inspiration, I don't know). Just brilliant.

Imagine a large number of monkeys banging away at keyboards (QUERTY or piano, your choice) and randomly twisting sliders, knobs, and levers, with a little bit of dancing thrown in...I'm just the editor, sifting thru it all.
