Grandma DJ rocks Russian village
DJ Baba Yuliya gets her songs from short-wave radio
A 70-year-old Russian grandmother is taking a small village east of Moscow by storm.
Yuliya Ryabinina, the director of culture for Bolshiye Otary, has decided that discos are the best way to connect with local teenagers.
And she has taken it on herself to spin the discs.
Under the guise of DJ Baba Yuliya, Mrs Ryabinina holds regular dance parties at the village hall.
"I'm a real party animal," she tells Russia's Channel One TV. "My feet and arms start moving and I just want to dance."
Hardly a spring chicken any more, the groovy granny keeps her strength up at the turntables by taking a potion of herbs and roots.
Wanting to look good, she also takes great care with her makeup, the TV says.
Traditional Russian folks songs are strictly off the play list and Baba Yuliya plays only current pop songs.
In the remote village in Nizhny Novgorod region, it is not easy for the septuagenarian DJ to keep up with the latest tunes.
But she does not let this stand in her way and records any new songs she hears from her medium- and short-wave radio.

this isnt about a DJ but a psy-trancer... at this one outdoor i went to met a medical surgeon that's a hardcore acid tripper... kinda funny... very scary... i'd make sure to never get surgery done by him on me... can u imagine?? "sorry but i cut out part of your intestine cuz oddly there were all kinds of bugs crawling out of it... but i realized later that i was just hallucinating... dont worry, you'll live"

Interesting topic ,
well besides being a label owner and dj .... my actual day job is pretty far off from the psy trance arena.
I run a plastics manufacturing company specialising in automotive components and consumer durables.

The good old P-Mac is a medic for example,I know:plumbers,publicity delivers,lawyers,drug dealers(the most common BTW.)...and more.

I'm a lawyer and a dj and party organiser.
my mate runs his own business (call centre) and is a dj and party organiser.
the combination of the 2 helps to create a somewhat balanced lifestyle!!!
go to work - get frustrated - come home - have a mix and belt out some tunes to get rid of the daily frustration!!!
