Who you think paid your room to you stay there ?
You always write that I dont want to pick u up from airport... How come I can meet you at airport If I dont even know that you will come ?
How come I can meet you at airport If I am at work in that time although I dont know who you r ?
About meal : First I asked you that you r hungry or not ? If I were such a bad guy, Why should I offer you to order meal ? I would say GO AND GET YOUR MEAL YOURSELF !
I didnt lie you, Buying you flight tickets isnt my responsibility but I would do it if I could have enough money (You know it better than me) First dont lie yourself !
My boss was right to kick your ass up out to hostel...Because I already paid 2 days for you and I didnt want to pay anymore.You threated me there to go back to Macedonia...Feel free to do it...
And you are not my personal friend thats why I dont have to take you to my house to hospitalize you...But At least whether or not I didnt let you stay outside even you curse me at the moment... I paid your meal and room...You still didnt thank me...
Worst comes to worst we will see each other on judgement day...Lets see whatcha gonna say in the presence of GOD ?

I actually think midijunkies has some valid points. Its not his fault that the Festival did not treat you ok. Furthermore he paid for your room and food. Out of Hospitality! And he is right. All you seem to do is complain about him (and call him names) as if he is to be blamed for your misfortune.
But midijunkies please leave God out of this. I'm an Atheist
P.S! Never go to a foreign country to play without money in your pocket, a validated return flight and 50% in advance from the organizer. Every professional DJ/Artist know these basic ground rules.

Like Beat Agency said an artist MUST always double check if his flight ticket is validated (very easy to do with just one phone call to the air company) and must always demand 50% of his fee in advance especially when he plays for the first time for an organiser he doesnt know.
So the responsibility for all this mess doesnt only fall to the bad organiser but it falls also to the unprofessional artist.

So it sounds like bad judgements were made by all involved in this situation.
I think Demoniac was valid at first in letting others know what went wrong, but from my experiences in life man you need to let go as holding on to these emotions will do you serious psychology & physical damage. Stress & being upset is not healthy.
The promoter sounds like he did fail in many ways, and should admit this. To admit failure is in itself not a bad thing, because failure is a part of being humans and also the way in which we learn & grow until we die. All of our education comes from mistakes, it's how you learn from mistake that makes you a smarter person next time.
Fightinng in the thread is doing noone any favors. If Demoniac comes back with fists out it will only damage your reputation here, I can see it happen.
You have made your points, now leave it for people to judge themselves. Give us all credit for our intelligence, we can see through lies.
Promoter should go an review exactly what went wrong & either make sure next time every issue anyone has brought up post event is addressed or just let it go and don't run the even again.
Behave like grown adults, bad things happen to people and it's how you deal with it that makes you a good or bad person. Sometimes we have to suck it up and deal with it, it hurts at first but ultimately you'll be better for it.
Good luck to Demoniac, love your releases and hope more comes in the near future.
Hope the promoter learns from this and maybe throws a professional event next time that leaves all involved with positive vibes.

what a mess! ...a real mess.
Here are some questions and answers between myself and organizer:
My Q- why nobody picked us up after arriving Dalaman airport in the middle of night?
His answer: Ï was pushing and pushing for the shuttle buses but it didn't work!
Oh and Only 2 days before festival I checked with him to make sure there are shuttle buses as per time table when we arrive Dalaman and he said YES for sure you'll be picked up after your flight!
My Q - why there are no showers?
His answer - if more people come I bring showers…for now you can use this (showing me a hose in the very dirty males toilet) and there's lake! …I didn't know Im supposed to wash myself inside a lake that every morning cows were pissing inside it! Thanks for letting me know!
The prices at the festival were increasing day by day…today juice for 5 Turkish lira, tomorrow juice for 8 TL. Now the cheese rolls for 4 TL , after 10 minutes they are 5 TL. No food except for Turkish crepe and some cheese sandwiches. No first aid center. 2 toilets and 1 hose as shower.
everybody had to spend so much of money on buses and shuttles and waiting hours and hours for these stupid shuttles to be filled with people so they start driving, we met a lot of people on the way who missed their flights because of delays and no transportation, so for those who didn't make it to Dalaman: you were the lucky ones!
Half of the time when I went to bar to buy water during the hot day, they said there's no water…you can use the tap…car is on the way from city we don't know when it arrives.
Generator crashed at least 4 times...most of the artists didn't make it to festival...
Im happy that me and my boyfriend came back safe from Dalaman…
Definitely first and last trip to Turkey.

just kidding. judgement day is either now or never later. probably never, unfortunately.
but no, wouldn't you, as a professional with more experience than him, think too, that ali is "the festival" if the person who invited you there redirects you to stay and be taken care of by ali? i mean, normally you are not taken care of by the main organiser himself arent you?:)
had this so many times in the past, but i was at the place of ali. sometimes it was really cool to have new contacts and share a home with guests from abroad, but sometimes it is very uncool especially because they never understood it is not my job to do this ..and most of them did think that it is a part of the festival deal to be taken care of.

Sorry to hear what happened but you mustn't forget that in this scene unless you're a big star of the season you're going to get little to nothing. flights, hotel, transport to fest are all 'additional' to basic fee. you get this only if you ask and confirm in advance. difference between the biggest visible festival and one like this is you have it all in writing on the contract you have to sign, so there is no reason to come online or anywhere and complain about it. If you don't like it there are 1000 other artists waiting to jump at the opportunity to take your slot and more than happy to pay to be there.
BUT to mistreat your attendees, who have paid to be in your country, who have paid for their tickets, to profit by changing prices of food, to not have sufficient water or toilets. That is the ultimate disgrace for a festival, and I'd really like to see this organiser explain that. also looks like the reason why midijunkies doesn't want to speak on behalf of the festival.
This topic should not have been focused on the artist vs. organiser pointless drama but on how badly this festival was organised. Have heard only negative things from lots of people about Voltron. The only positive thing is my opinion from seeing the videos, and that is that the chillstage location looks v.nice.
It's sad (but true) that bad organisers can completely ruin the experience of travelling to a new country. |
