Goa trance is dead since the people that invented it,produced it,evolved it,made it famous or whatever you like stopped being involved with it including the people that were listening to this music and the party organisers who used to host such parties.
No more Astral Projection,no more Hallucinogen,no more Transwave,no more Power Source,no more Mystica,no more Man With No Name,no more California Sunshine,no more MFG,no more Chakra and Edi Mis,no more Orion,no more Oforia,no more Pleiadians and Etnica no more nothing.
Like everything in life Goa Trance had its developing stage,its peak stage,its decline stage and finally reached death.
As simple as that,end of story.

i totally agree with compadre aluxe... Goa its just a name, you can callit hoever you like but the sense of spiritual union its the same, the music will be changing the sounds the tempos the places everything is and will be evolving but the meaning reamains. VIP areas are prety away from the concept of our cultural sense thats why i hate VIPs
the problem with VIPs arent the sofas, the privacy or the drinks with umbrellas the problem is what VIPs represent, ELITISM (?) when do this cultural movement became so elitist?... i dont know, i started when VIPs already existed, When do the artists stoped being one more person and became "celebrities" .... i dont even want to know.
but for me the spirit of goa music is still lliving in many people, we all are artist but only the ones that have to do with the music or the party organisation earn the buck$ . i feel like we are waiting for the next big wave, the one that can put us higher as one being, a wave that make us feel free, hapy, and part of the same organism, without caring about money, countries, space, time, and all that things that can make us feel slaves.

Im sorry............i must of missed somethin........
i suppose "GOA TRANCE" is something tangible.....and only artists like Hallucinogen, etnica and man with no name cornered the market of "GOA TRANCE"......and since they are not producing music anymore or as much.........it is now considered "DEAD".......

obviously since it is not tangible.......and it is more a matter of "spirit".....
the only way it could be "dead" then......is if it is "DEAD" in you........
and obviously that is what has happened......not that it is a bad thing......just that it is "DEAD" to you know........
and for me.........fortunately.......it is definitely not "DEAD" with me.......
as far as vips are concerned......
god bless them.....
if they want sofas, and umbrella cocktails, and meeting people in the industry........then greaaaaaat........
thats their prerogative.........even tho i do find it kind of funny.......
for me being a part of the "psychedelic culture and family"........it wasnt just about the music........it was about being a better person.........that may sound cheesy..........but its MY TRUTH......
and for me.......being a VIP.....meaning VERY IMPORTANT PERSON........doesnt really go with the "spirit" of things.......
but......i am all for doing whatever makes you happy.......without hurting anyone.....and i dont see this as hurting anyone.........

1) From comments I read in this thread. People seem to think that VIPs stay in the VIP area and are seperated from the most important area: the dancefloor.
In my experience, VIPs often spend a lot of time on the dancefloor, usually up the front. VIP area is usually backstage so when people want a drink, massage or toilet or whatever, they can go quickly and get one and not walk 15min. back to the campsite.
2) VIP is elite and not in the spirit of trance.
I also read people saying Goa Trance is dead, do they mean the music or the spirit?
Ofcourse when I went to Goa Trance parties in 95 - 98 the feeling was a lot different (and there were no big VIP areas) but there were no really huge festivals then either. You cannot compare the Goa Trance Parties to the big Psytrance Festivals of today.
Everybody knows that a party of 500 people usually has better connection and spirit than a party of 10,000 people. And these underground parties never have a VIP area. In Japan, you can find so many of these underground 500ppl outdoor parties in Summer and you can even find some parties that are still oldschool Goa style decoration and music.
I think you cannot talk about spirit of the scene with big festivals. It has eveolved into something different. I went to a party last week where they were selling Bansi's autograph on a card so kids can put on their bedroom wall or something.
As I said before, if you want spirit and no elite, everyone equal and trancing then go to the underground parties where they have no VIP area.
As for big festivals, you cannot talk about this spirit here. They have VIP areas because it is necessary, if people want to pay extra for this service and the organizer can make it work, then I'm happy. I do not hate VIPs. 300 people out of 10,000 people is not going effect the vibe of the festival too much.
Each to their own as someone said earlier. I hope you can find your "dream" party wherever you are in the world.
For those coming to Japan who are into the old school spirit Goa Parties. I recommend Earth Energy and Manas.
The music was like new black polished chrome

What is going on is there are people who want to make money out of this movement there start the shit....
It wasn't about money but about spirituality....
Times changes People minds too...
We have what is the demand of the market, some underground and a lot of commercial, more and more
And also what is today underground will maybe commercial in 1 year or more |

I totally agree, i was very pleasantly surprised to see that big names like Atmos can spend a whole day on the dancefloor, partying hard with all of us before playing a set at VooV or Soulclipse. Very nice & refreshing to see.
Ofcourse the are other ppl but I think in general this not a real problem in the psy-scene...
