I've been considering returning to my roots as a bedroom synth junkie for a lot of the same reasons.

there's nothing wrong in being a bedroom synth junkie. i've been exactly that for some 5 years now!
but you can still feel somehow connected to "the scene". i've been calling it hibernation....
let's create a new band: "the bedroom synth junkies" and save the scene with our stupendous spy-prance!

I agree completely!

oh, are you one of those people who believe that lsd makes a better person out of a violent idiot, an artist out of a non creative person and a peaceful scene out of *the situation that we have*? forget this, it won't work unless you integrate some psychedelic therapeutics as a door controll.

what about closing the partys for once and only letting organizers do their thing who can achieve a certain miminum of social consciousness in what they do? good minimum standards as a market entry condition is what germany always did well? and if you argument for not closing these partys, do not forget to add at least an argument.

In Denmark there are alot of violence in the Fullon/progressive scene - Alot of hells angels and hang arrounds with big face tattoes. But the darkpsy community (parvati scene) its totally diferent - Its all love hehe.
Also if you look like a festival like indian spirit in germany - Very different types of poeple you see on darkfloor compared to mainfloor - Of course (and thank god) mostly its normal happy poeple but more and more(gangsta wannabe types) is seen.

But very sad to hear about this - crazy world sadly.

to turn it almost like a sect by partying with selected people, only know faces, private parties ect can be good but its really sad in a way.. i enjoyed it in the past cause it was a way to get more good parties.. but it s a bit the oposite of the spirit i m in..

i remember parties in ibiza you had the hippy from the 70 dancing next to the guys who ranted a big villa for his holidays with his biatch ,next the rasta rolling his joint ect..., it feel unreal, people that usually don t mix in normal life... but they all come for partying ! that make the most awesome energy on the floor.

I'm a newbie (few years) in the psytrance scene, so I can't really compare to the past. Haven't had big negative experiences althought I've heard of some beating at a party a friend organized. Also I see that, at least in Switzerland, the party get promoted so hard that you reach a lot of "wrong" minded people. I also think, that the music gets more into mainstream. I'm all about dark, hi-tech, psycore and new-,oldschool. The nice weird stuff I think, that you won't find that much of idiots at a remember party. Also I noticed, that at psycore/hi-tech parties, you rather meet angry people. (Again, probably because the music somehow "fits")

In Switzerland, you see a lot of parties relese the location just a day or so before the party starts or you have to contect them. I've even seen that you have to answer some questions about goa. Or just stuff like "Who searched, will find" never ever releasing the location. Porbably should make the people ask around if anyony knows about it. That way, you reach a more poeple while being still mouth to mouth.

Anyway, I'd rather say, that the goa scene is a lot more secure and friendly than the normal clubbing etc.

Also the media fucks everything up. Very very sad. Poeple are getting more dumb every day because of this shitty mainstream media.

Sad to hear something...

having been in the dark scene for over 10 years it dosent really sound like you have every participated in a dark/psycore festival or party, because i have never experienced anything like that. Alot of freaks and hardcore trippers but not at all gangsta types with bullrot abd pitbull clothes....These types is seen more and more in the big scene (especially in denmark where i am from) in fullon in progressive.

now how and where exactly did this thread turn into a genre thing? and why wasnt it me that started it?

sarcasm aside, while totally disconnecting the ambience from the type of music being played - there are idiots and violent people anywhere that turns to something bigger than a word to mouth thing, cuz they wanna be where its at, regardless of the music being played or people wearing faerie wings...

hell the only real violent act i have ever seen in my years of partying was in a minimal/prog party years ago, where the crowd was usually more mature and far from being aggressive...
