I think better DJs (than Gil, & there are loads) could do a much better job than Gil, if they could manage to play longer sets like Gil & most of all they get booked to play longer sets!!!

The problem is indeed that most organizers have a wrong assumption that more Djs' equal more visitors. Most organizers wont book Dj's to play longer than 2-3 hours - sadly.           www.beatagency.dk

Sadly yes, so only Gil is accepted & booked to play all night long & longer, it shows his ritual is different than others.           We were born naked & grow up to become wicked.

I agree fully. I enjoy parties with less DJs per night and wish there were more events like that.

That being said (and I'm not drawing comparisons) I did highly respect Psykovsky's criterion when booking him was inquired on, which was, "As long as I'm not the only one."

to that

^ indeed, too funnies

Should we talk of staging for Gil? How about the hidden moon treasures or Gravitational plane or even the biopsychic axis? How about the analog telepathic quantum's per the experience?

Did i tell you the time me looked through the chillum and what me seen at the end?

Did you hear about the one experience that Gilburt turned the music off to have someone removed from the party because he was feeling offended by the presence of another, then gave a big spill he was a baba and he ruled?

There is this energy at the shows that is grater than Gil, it has zero to with Gil's values on the experience..

There was this one time we were gonna put the speakers facing the other way to were the dancers ad Gil to their back but gil didn't like the idea of having no one look at him but we said Gil, you can look at all the little girls booties without the need to were your cool sunglasses, in your face with a wet fart joke...

Any ideas about the fractal transposition? Why he follows the long count but knows zero about it?

Any DNA reports of sorting out shape-shifters?

Can we talk frequencies yet? Anyone ever peed of the rainbow bridge? Come on, where's all the information that comes with the experience, we are talking on a god father subject, yes, where's all the brains at? Have we not learned anything from the music besides saying how important its is? Where is all the educated psy freaks at?

Let's start the story so we can close this chapter of Gil up and get some new talent out here

Can we save Gil from the pits of hell for being a blasphemous? It's not too late for him to walk the path of the great divine, does your baba know what the divine balance means?

Gil is a very cool person, if you have any questions he can normally provide an answer.. Being a trained Orthotics & Prosthetics technician, me worries about Gil's health in shoes smarts..

So let's talk music within the experience of the trance dance as an extension in this interview with GOA

A cute creature named “Jack” is working on it – there is “a message one cannot afford to miss” in the Spirituality forum on the topic.

Here is another interesting conversation ultimately leading to shape-shifters. BTW, it seems that they are actually albino lizards. Hmm…

I was about to – once. If that nice Canadian border checkpoint guy asked me one more nice Canadian border checkpoint question, I’d have no choice but to jump out of my car and offend both great countries right there and then. Don’t drink and drive, people. Especially coffee.

+1

So, let’s say we book HardcoreNate instead of Gil, give him unlimited access to coffee and those magic fertilizers European ravers love so much, ask him to stitch together 24 hours of darkpsy and play it. Are we going to get the Gil experience? If not – what else is needed? A speech about good old times? A few random Sanskrit words? A belly to fold his hands on once in a while? What is it that Gil provides – beyond the music he plays – that shapes “the experience”?

And if it’s only (or almost only) about the music he plays – what is special about his sets, beside their length? Will HardcoreNate on smuggled pep pills provide the same experience?

I have zero issues with the way Gilbert dances, me enjoy seeing people dance... It's just an observation that his bobble dance doesn't help him understand the experience he lacks detail in..

Well to become a Baba isn't such a hard thing to become per whatever clan you are under.. It is true that the clan of Baba hood he is in isn't the most respected of all clans.. In fact, there are jokes about it...

If you want GOAPETE, you can be baba too

Lizzard i respect ur point of view as a promoter what u write, it makes sense.

It takes a lot to be a Baba, there r fake Baba's but gil is not a fake baba. (By Baba I do not in anyway mean that he is an immortal symbol of Hinduism) he has practised Hinduism for a longtime now. He was a Baba first and then became a Dj. It is not that he took the persona to be a Dj. Regarding his Akhara or clan as u call it this is no place to discuss it.

I think the most important thing here is music and rest all is secondary. I love the music he plays, Like me a lot of other people around the world like the music he plays, that is why people go listen to him. When promoters book him they exactly know what to expect. It can be a terrible experience if u r not into the music.

Last I heard Gil play was in 2000 in Goa at German bakery. He was good.

On the west coast Portland crew do a party with him every year. A lot of my fiends drive down to see him play. People swear by it, What an experience, It is an awesome party.

Regarding ego, who doesn't have ego. Raja Ram, Posford, GMS, Israeli duos ... you can go on and on.

Peace.

Let’s forget about Gil as a person. Is he a prima donna, is he a male chauvinist, is he a baba – I don’t care. You say you like his music. So, is there something besides music that defines “the Gil experience”? If yes – what is it? If no – would another darkpsy DJ (with a 24-hour supply of pep pills) be able to reproduce “the experience” without Gil?

I am sure a lot other artist can do it but only if they ask to be booked for a 24 hour set and promoters r ready to book them for it.

Of course, in 2000 there was a lot more good music to choose from. Today there is a lot more music to choose from but most of it is not so good! So 24 hours of whatever is being produced from the niche of dark psy is going to be a lot of hours of mediocre filler. So are all those mediocre filler tracks worth the time, money, effort to stay up all night etc etc just to hear a couple good tracks and have that 'experience'?

as a "consumer" i enjoy about 12-15 hours of the music that is played during these parties...is that worth my 50-60$ ticket? absolutely. will i stay there for the whole 24 hours on the dancefloor? prolly not, but i wouldn't stray too far.

How many 2 day parties have 12 hours of music that suck? A BUNCH. sometimes you are paying way more for the artists that do suck...some times quite a bit more...it's all debatable.

I think the way gil dances is cute lol. I've helped throw a few gil parties, and the organization side wasn't my favorite so i stopped, but i never stopped supporting the parties. It's good to see all the east coast tribes come together and rage out for a weekend...

if you think he sux don't go and quit yer bitchin...i'm sure i'll see a couple of you guys at the next gil party on the east coast (if there is one)

slammmmm.
