I like Goa Gil Music.....and do like some of his Ideology.
Worshipping a human being is just stupid but i dont think what people do they just wanna see Gil playing.
Its like i have seen the guy play live its more like something you would talk about with your friends after some years.
IMHO if a person can make good music now or in the past i respect the person will always do. Even if they dont do it any more.
Rather than Criticizing let repsect the person for contributing some thing towards the scene.
We dont need to that negative againg any person................unless it is SKAZI.
Mushrooms make you do crazy stuff. Look at Mario he jumps on animal heads and fights with dragons. |

Hi tina! How comes youe sad? Will you summarize the video with the post in a few short words? Please
"Anybody out there" who has read this thred willing to speak their voice in review? What happened?

Hi, BrainLizzard.
Those are two different questions.
What the video is about is hard to explain beyond Tina’s description, unless I actually transcribe the whole interview.
What this thread is about is much easier to summarize:
Gil rox – Gil sux – rox – sux – rox – sux - ...
That and a little bit of this:
You’re a dimwit – you’re an idiot yourself – dimwit – idiot - ...
I personally got a feeling that most of this thread has nothing to do with the video (which can be found here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1339500396225064783#)
The video itself is interesting. For me, it was the first time I got to learn something about Goa Gil beyond the “Godfather of Psytrance” cliché and “sux-rox” opinions. Also, most of what he said agrees with me well, both emotionally and intellectually – even if it’s all just Gil's PR. And I don’t think this is just PR, at least not all of it.
One thing he said did not fit with the rest of the interview: when he claimed he's the only one who keeps Goa spirit pure. You can kinda see he did not intend to say that - an interesting slip...
As for comparing him to levitating saints and super-duper gurus: get a life, people! He himself explains more than once in this interview that this is not who he is.
P.S. Thank you, Tina. |

You speculate. He said what he said and would not have said it if he did not mean it

I did not say he didn't mean it. I said he did not intend to say it (at least in this interview). Those are different things. |

People in SF think he invented goa music and that what he plays is "goa" in exclusion of everything else.
Is very sad |

Sorry mate you do not make any sense now
How can he say something but do not intend to say it? In my book he said what he said and meant it and had every intention to say it. Otherwise ho would not have said it Simple as that

Very easy.
He meant it, as in “this is really what he thinks”. But he did not intend to say it, as in “he did not plan to mention it in this interview”. He got a bit worked up for a minute or two and in the end of those explanations this statement just slipped. He did mean it but he did not plan on saying it. At least that’s how it looked to me.

Just like I said: most of this discussion has very little to do with the video. He talks about his origins and how he ended up in India (and Goa in particular) and why he’s called “Goa Gil”. This thread would be much shorter (or at least much more productive) if people actually watched that interview before posting their opinions.

Beat Agency, sometimes people in interviews let slip something they didn't intend to say. They may be thinking it, but know that saying it would make them look bad. But.... it can slip out.
And Shiranui, I am from SF and I don't believe that. Please don't blanket SF people in one sweep like that, cos I am from SF and most probably do not fall under one sweep of anything (unless it's a sweeper over the death box).
