I don't know if anyone else is like me but when I am at home incidentally I like listening to music and playing video games. I guess you can say I am looking for the perfect combination of the two. Has any one discovered a game that is enhanced by listening to some good trance? I have tried some racing games which work alright but action adventure like Resident Evil 4 don't because you have to hear enemies and listen to parts of the story. To give you an idea of what I mean.

used to listen to scatterbrain when playing tony hawk pro skater 3 ....but now ive kinda stopped playing games and listening to trance :-S

play 1st person shooter like
serious sam or quake4 where you dont have to hear the enemies or story elements...

Old "DOOM" with "Music For The Jilted Generation" .. I used to play DOOM with this album all the time when I was a "kid". The track "Break and Enter" is perfect! Especially those "Whooom!!" effects in the music that so8nds (to me) like the doors in DOOM opening and closing.

I don't play games much these days but when i do it's usually something simple... something you can just pick up and play - like one of the PopCap games or the game that i mentioned in this thread:

I also like playing MAME ROMs from time to time - got thousands of the damn things!

It's more a case of something to do while listening to music rather than music to listen to while playing a game. Still, it's great for passing an hour.

Am i the only one who believes in solipsism?

I used to put some good music when I played the old and good Max Payne....kicked their asses!

First person shooters may indeed work. I should try Unreal Tournament which isn't as negative as say doom. Plus I prefer to play on the consoles since running two differnt audio may screw up my pc.
