Here goes my review ;-) Enjoy...
Lungs of Life(Tribal Vision/2008)

1. Decade
2. Breathing Place
3. Ensueño (Morning mix)
4. Waveguide
5. Analog Marinade
6. Follow Me
7. Dewdrops (Vibrasphere vs Ticon)
8. Erosion (Glenn Morrison & Bruce Aisher remix)
9. 102 Miles From Here (Solead remix)

Starting with the very beginning of trance music itself, the Swedish duo Vibrasphere has followed the path faithfully for ten years and had made a bedrock of world wide reputation for making original, diverse and characteristic sound. In the distant 1998, Rickard and Robert worked separately with their own project and after Rickard's cousin introduced them to each other they founded the Vibrasphere project. Since then, they both had their hands full, working on their music and on various soundtracks film and media projects. Nowadays their music is recognized by some of the superstar Djs like: Hernan Cattaneo, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold, Chistopher Lawrence and many more. With this, the fifth release “Lungs of Life”, Vibrasphere should once again prove their talent, dedication and love towards the music.

Ambient mellowness, gliding towards the sun as the timeless space which surrounds us is leaving me dead silent for which my ears can feel, cannot be described with mere words, therefore I selfishly keep it for myself(T1).Sprinkled with an acoustic guitar, spiced with a perfect amount of effects, stirred with a variety of break beats and dipped into a deep phat bass is the perfect recipe for a marvelous down tempo piece, ongoing to infinity(T2).As soon as the deep and warm bass hits as a emotional hammer on the listener you'll know you are in for a good ride(T3). The sounds just keep blending, becoming something new and more whole with each moment. Hard kick and filtered bass herald the clubbier part of the CD. It seems as if Vibrasphere got taken with the minimalistic wave, but as soon as the acid chord kicks in into body jolting beats that leaves no one smiling, you are reassured that it's another masterpiece(T4). A well assembled multi layered rhythm which crackles and sizzles over the embracing synth all welded together into elegant simplicity. As the shimmering pads float the beat continues into a hypnotism that passively absorbs the feelings and sensations of the trance generation(T5). The round 303 like bass swirling from the lower towards the higher frequencies repetitively trancing the listener is part of a another crossed over mellow track with a good story to tell(T6). The way that vibrashphere are able to strip everything down to its essentials before embracing the ears by the floating, liquid melodies and vocals is just stunning. Full texture sounds, complex but effective the uplifting ending of the CD is resonating along with the dance floor as the rhythmical complexity continues to pound hard on the speakers and so the plot unfolds(T7,T8). As this CD gets closer to it's end the focus is clearly on the power of repetition(T9). The electro remix from Solead is fun and funky, the stabs are full and reverbed, not too hard and not too sleazy it brings as to a full stop of this wonderful journey.

Recommendation: Still evolving, still experimenting with new types of styles and sounds, this album has crossed over so many times that I lost count and on the way blending tons of emotive content which once againg, has proven the power of the acid sounds despite the fact that they are utterly overused. The sleek “green” cover, and the informative text inside the CD are a good, informative addition with this release.
Favourites: 2,3!!,5!,7!!

I liked it more than exploring the tributuaries, but still far from lime structure and archipielago.

The sound is more nice and less chessy than exploring, most of the tracks cand ot the work on the dancefloor.

the collaboration with ticon generated high expectations and it dindt fullfill them, both of them have passed their golden era. It would have been great to have a collaboration 4 years ago.           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

Vibrasphere – Lungs of Life
Tribal Vision Records

Review:

Vibrasphere is over the last years one of my favourite projects, every album they made brings always lots of fresh new ideas for our parties and for the dance music in general.

Track 1 invites you to enter in the album atmosphere, with a pacific intro, composed by some quiet pads and very relaxed sounds.

Track 2 comes in a slow chillout mood...it has a nice downbeat groove, some dreamy pads and melodies, colourful percussions...really nice for listening after a party.

If you are expecting for dancefloor music, here it starts...the bassline drives us to an electro territory, with some morning and deep pads floating around, dreamy melodies, always with a pumping and rhythmic kick backward.

Track 4 comes more dark and spooky, with a more intense and strong atmosphere on it...it has some lysergic synths and acid sounds, fat bassline, nice rhythmics, definitely changes the atmosphere of the album.

Track 5 continues in the same minimal way, with some dirty sounds coming and going...groovy and danceable bassline, nice dreamy melodies, good for any dancefloor at rush hours.
.
Track 6 comes with a more progressive structure...it has a very high electro expression, with a groovy bass and some morning peaceful leads...till this moment, Vibrasphere proved one more time that they can compose any style of music, always in his own unique way.

Track 7 is a collaboration with Ticon and comes very rhythmic and mellow...it has a pumping kick, groovy progressive bassline, some luminous spacey arpeggios, deep reverb pads, all together with a beautiful construction.

Track 8 is the remix of Erosion by Glenn Morrison & Bruce Aisher and is another pleasure for our ears...it has a solid and rolling kick bassline, some sweet melodies, fat progressive rhythmics, more smooth than the original.

For ending the album, we have the Solead remix of 102 Miles From Here, here on a more minimal techno mood...it has some fat and dark sounds, good percussions and rhythmics, really nice groove...the only thing I don’t like so much is the vocal samples but it’s a question of tastes.

After 4th albums and lots of releases in all kinds of labels, Vibrasphere continues to impress with their continuous innovations in their productions...all tracks have his own soundscapes and his own story, all very deep and rhythmic.

8/10

Starting out with a soothing theme building up an expectation for wide soundscapes and tight combinations.(t1-2) Introducing club influences to the somewhat electro infected psy-trance proggressive scene.(t3) Blending intelligently executed appregiators with swarming percussions and a subtle yet powerful drive. (t4) A continuous flow of late early 90's hypnotic acid music combined with contemporary elemets. (t5) A dense piece demonstrating the very essence of what our "ancestors" were (and still is) doing with old and perhaps for many forgotten equipment. (t6) In a similar fashion to t5 the track "Follow Me" is what t5 would sound like if it was made "today". (t7) For me this piece is very unintresting, and ticonish. Dont misunderstand me, ive followed Ticon since the early days since they are from my hometown. But nowadays zzzzzz. (t8) A vivid atmosphere draws you deeper and deeper into the world of "erosion" a fantastic remix including all the good original elements in their new freshend up costumes. (t9) This is for me the highlight of this album, coming from a technoish background this state of the art minimalistic states the fundamental rules of a rock solid beats importance. I love it. Thank you Solead and Vibrasphere.

Favs: 6, 8 & 9(!!!)

I would also like to add that i havent written a single trance-cd review for over 3 years. This release was worth a word or two.
