So far Vol. 2 sounds nice... No "bad" tracks, and an pleasant listen all the way through - with crystal clean production and NICE mastering!

My taste falls close to Master Margherita, I like these the best:

1. M Seven
8. Alucination
10. Mystical Sun
11. Drift

I played the whole thing at a birthday party the other night for a fairly 'hardcore' trance crowd and a couple parts near the begining were too vocal some some of their tastes. But in my book, the Irina vocals on Aquila - "La Rosa" are most exqusite!
Joti.

Lovely compilation

It feels more ambient than lounge but who cares... trackselection is sooo smooth.

and who is Fredrik Ohr... amazing atmosphere in this track. I just adore it.

thank you Interchill

V/A - Earth Octave Lounge vol.2
Interchill Records

Interchill Records has spent its last several releases breaking underground electronic music into the mainstream consciousness with impressive results and even more impressive music. Its newest offering, Earth Octave Lounge vol.2 straddles the barrier between diehard fanatics and the general listening public.

It seems that in trying to define themselves, artists & labels have gone to great lengths to designate and subcategorize themselves. However, the compiler of the Earth Octave Lounge series (Gordon Field) is clearly oblivious to music trends, enabling him to focus on collecting a set of tracks that address deeper longings in the listener. One can not simply place this album into any preexisting convenient category or genre. It contains elements of dub, lounge, IDM, and world-ethno mixed into a compelling and relaxed compilation.

This record arouses the casual listener, but goes far beyond, even turning on the most jaded electronic music critic - including this reviewer.

After having this one for a while and listening to it quite a lot, I must say that it kinda faded away with me. I really appreciate Gordon's taste and love the first in the series. You still get fresh names and sounds and total diversity, however... there are no tracks that are not nice to listen to and all serve as an enjoyable background, but in the end, that's all most of them do to me.

The only exceptions are the Human Blue track, which is amazing (though for me it misses a female vocal- but it runs in my head anyway when I hear it, so I'm OK- if you wanna hear it too, ask me when you meet me ), and Return from Fredrik Ohr which is just great- fresh, special, smart, full of feel- remember this name!

Aquila's La Rosa has a great melody and singing (which every sepharadic Jew from the previous generation will recocnize), however, while the singing is nice and the music is nice- they just don't sit well together. The rest, well, as I said, nice and pleasent, but not more.
