MTV and VH1 do not play psytrance.

Thank goodness.

I love it when I play some psy in my car and everyone goes "Wow... what is THIS?!"

i like the ecene better here in SOCAL(LA,OC,SD)that the one from my own city Guadalajara,Mexico i m not writting this not just beacuse now i live in anaheim CA but because it really is i mean here i would say it still small and underground rather than the popular and crowded ecene in guadalajara which is what makes this quite better, here we dont have as many parties as the ones in mexico which makes each one of them unforgetable, rather than the overplayed party weekends in mexico thing that opens the game for pseudo-promoters and throw poor quality events and you know that! i have to mention that some of the best parties i've ever been were actually in mexico all over our country man, have to mention the ones from mandala/massive trance in gudalajara one the ones in mexico city DF thrown by the people of MAIA recs how about the parties from psyclon in puebla hehehe good times man.           www.instagram.com/ckloro

I agree with Psycore... too much MTV, Muchmusic & VH1. Both of our Countries are pretty much Brainwashed by the comercial garbage flooding our Radios & Televisions. It's in the govenments best interest to keep people away from Psychedelic mind expansion... it's all about control.

Having said that, we still manage to pull off unbelievable parties. In Vancouver our parties max out around 300 (sometimes more but not often), but everyone is there for the music, with no egos or attitudes. Pure as the music itself...

We do bring in some big names, but at very high risks, as we usually just break even - or in many cases lose money.
A major problem with a small scene is everybody is your friend and expects to get in for free...
What to do?

Well we can't give up that's for sure...

USA is the final frontier. Atleast in the terms of mass popularity.

And hopefully, it shall remain so.

It does get a trifle frustrating, but the atmosphere at a psychedelic event(note: event, NOT party) is all the more refreshing.

Just wish i lived in Cal or NYC.           ~*** You can tell By the way i use my walk, Im a woman's man, No time to Talk***~

Psytrance is dimetrically opposite to the American national character... Unless a cultural liberation as massive as what happened in the 1960's happens again that isnt likely to change . Take it from me Ive lived here for my entire 23 years.

True... we are a psychedelic culture existing during a senseless war waged by the US gvt.... but the difference is that this particular senseless war seems to be a lot more popular with American young people than Vietnam. Sure there are lots of people who disagree with the direction the USA is going but apparently not enough to put it in reverse.

this is a very true observation.
too much pressure from the media made americans incapable of perception of psy-trance and other non-mainstream music.
i still hope that this is about to change for some of the people living in us and canada.
i was watching "the gathering" the other night and was in quite shock to see how many japanese could get together for a psychedelic experience and how devoted they were on the dancefloor.
i still love the spirit of american psy events, especially the national and cultural diversity of it.

peace, love and serenity to everyone.

@Konflux.

Yes, the gathering was just incredible. But it came out to me like it was a rock concert. The barriers, the security and what not.

I dont think i cud ever go for something that big. With that kind of atmosphere.
Ok, if i get to go, i definitely will but i'll be one of the dudes in the far back           ~*** You can tell By the way i use my walk, Im a woman's man, No time to Talk***~

Is that the one that is in the style of an MTV tour video where Skazi and company are on the bus and they are showing eachothers belly buttons and there is a "typical skazi fan" (proudly labled as such) jumping up and down yelling SKAZI! SKAZI! SKAZI! like a total groupie retard?

Yeah..Doin an imitation of Skazi on the guitar..
What really suprised me, was that she almost got it right. Two riffs and slow down, Reverse kick and two riffs AGAIN for the next two minutes!!

trick .. you're back to annoy ?

go climb a banyan tree in gokarna and sit and watch the parties since thats obviously the only way yu're going to be happy ..

its people like you who destroy the energy in nyc .. yes, we have indoor parties, but its better than having none at all ... and as for truly psychedelic artists, in the last one year, we have had - penta, suria, nexus, neuromotor, etc etc ..

if you'd rather paint "skazi fan" on your stomach and go running after his tour bus with your tongue hanging out, be my guest ... just please, once and for all, stop shitting on our scene when you arent even a part of it ..
