trick .. you're back to annoy ?

go climb a banyan tree in gokarna and sit and watch the parties since thats obviously the only way yu're going to be happy ..

its people like you who destroy the energy in nyc .. yes, we have indoor parties, but its better than having none at all ... and as for truly psychedelic artists, in the last one year, we have had - penta, suria, nexus, neuromotor, etnica, deviant species etc etc .. as for the others, if you bring a "truly psychedelic" artist down, after paying for his airfare and fees, how many people in new york have really heard of cosmo, or highko, or zik, or winter demon other than the few who frequent isratrance .. you spend a packet of money on them, but will get only a couple of hundred people at the party. case in point - bring gms down, you'll have at least a thousand strong crowd ... bring wizack twizack or shift down, imho waaaaaay better artists , and you'd have at tops two - three hundred people.

if you'd rather paint "skazi fan" on your stomach and go running after his tour bus with your tongue hanging out, be my guest ... just please, once and for all, stop shitting on our scene if you arent even a part of it ..           paagal power ..

exactly u just made my point by wat u said...

no one in nyc actually knows psychedelic trance
thast why why no one would come to parties for that have truly pyschedelic artists
the nyc trance scene is full of wannabe ravers that dont really know pyschedelic music....do lots of e, dance like fools, and think they had a great time
im all for that if u think thast having a good time...but for the minority of people who have experienced better and dont do drugs in bad energy places are often sadly dissapointed
a badly organized, low energy trance party is much worse than having no trance at all..trust me
and wat are u guys shitting on the gathering for...dude the energy at that parties looks like about 100000 times more then at a party in nyc
every friend of mine who has gone for a party in nyc and elsewehre in teh world constantly agrees wtih my perspective

hmm... new york trance heads are some of the most dedicated i've met anywhere. the scene in new york is old, and has a tendency for the progressive edge, not hard dark psy like bombay.

in fact, there's probably only one other place in the world that has a similar taste for music as bombay - san francisco. maybe you should move there and stop complaining.

I don't know about the scene in the States... but the scene here in Montreal Canada is excellent... we have an event every tw2 week pretty much... either a all-night party like Elixir with Broken Toy in march

http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/54513/forum/28
http://www.aliencrewmontreal.com

...or Hybrid with 3.Turn in April and Midimiliz a week later..

Myst in May with Son Kite...

http://www.musicallbox.ca/

and the Eclipse festival at the end of July... 3 days from friday to sunday... insane line up...
ANd we have monthly events called Amazon in na bar (meaning it ends around 3am here) and there's usually (or quite often) a place where the party continues afterwords...

http://www.techsafari.ca

The bar night was sold out last time at around 350 people (from what I remember)... and parties range between small and Eclipse size... (200-2000)

ANd the vibe is excellent... Just ask any montreal regulars here... We have great party makers and goers...

I can't really speak for anywhere else... but from what I'm being told on a regular basis... Toronto parties rock hard as well... more on the techy and/or proggy style of things...

alright... I've been going on long enough... Come and check it out if you'Re not convinced... It's the land of winter... but damnit it gets hot in tehre when the dancefloor is on fire...

np: Blisargon Demogorgon - Prepare For Love

(now how bored am I right now that I wrote all of this...)

"too much pressure from the media made americans incapable of perception of psy-trance and other non-mainstream music.
i still hope that this is about to change for some of the people living in us and canada."

i really dont think thats true at all. Im not even in a large city and there is always alot going on as far as non mainstream music, its just not psytrance. Maybe in 10 years when people have forgot about the "rave" scene psytrance could catch on here like in other countries but i think the "problem" is that psy is completely linked in peoples minds with the rave scene, which was HUGE in the US 5 years ago, became to large and burnt itself out. I really dont see this as a problem though as i would much prefer to party with 50 hardcore psyheads than 5k people who the majority are there just because its the in thing to do.

I can comment on the NY scene or Canada, as not having been.
but all i can say to you nay-sayers of the US scene is :

ask almost any producer, that has played in SF there favorite places to play
the answers you are most likely to get :

Japan
Sao Paulo brazil
San Francisco

Slyman604 really hit on a major point that has really sculpted the psychedelic trance scene here in the US.. There used to many large raves here in the 90's and early 2000s, but they did get too large and drew the attention of the media and the lawmakers. It got to the point that raves were considered a four letter word. Personally, the last thing I want to deal with is going to a large psytrance show where I have to look out for cops while I'm trying to roast one. The shows that I have been to in the US, (all up and down California, Oregon, Texas) have been intimate shows with a spectacular vibe pretty much all the way through. Sure, as an artist it would be a big kick to play for thousands of people!!! But at the same time if I can go to a party and already know half of the people there and meet the rest during the course of the evening, it makes me feel more like a family.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

There was a push for psy trance in the mainstream music media in the past here in the US... Actually there was a dance music show on Saturdays in the early AM where I saw videos from Prana Geomatic, Astral Projections... that song witht he dune sample... the spice, Doof Mars Needs women

I think the US is a huge country and for the most part the cities are not designed for social enviroments, but for consumption. At least here in FL it is hard to get together with ppl on a daily basis unless you drive for 30 to 45 minutes. I know for a fact, in Europe is it much easier to get together.

Also ppl, at least in FLorida, are in constant flux. You do not have a steady group of ppl for more than 2 or three years.

SF is the most social city "I have been" in the US, followed closely by NY. I think that is part of why scenes thrive in those cities. There are also free spirited places like Asheville or anywhere in the west coast.

I think the US is growing steadily, and more ppl are joining into the chant. It is just a matter of time.

Or maybe people simply learned from the "massives" and figured out that going large was the way to go bust.

Ive only HEARD of massives... and the closest I have been to one, was Cyberquest last October... and it was stupid.

I just wanted to see IM live on the West Coast just after an album release, hoping theyd go crazy... or something. And they went on 45 min late, at about a quarter to one... and the lights got turned on and the power to the equipment turned off at 2 am.

Absolute crap.

These smaller parties (max 300 or so) are absolutely amazing!!! You dont see people in the corner smoking meth or have crazy paramedic tents for the idiots who take too much of whatever they get ahold of.

Everyone has their head on their shoulders at these small ones, and EVERYONE SMILES!!

Unparalleled.

I'm gonna stick with the smaller outdoor parties... way better for the soul and the ear.

I think the advertising agencies ruined psytrance and electronic music here in America. If I play psytrance to someone who has never heard it before, the usual response I get back is "this sounds like a Toyota car Commercial".
