hi guys
sorry if this has been discussed before......
now since all the unreleased music is never gonna be released....so what i want some tracks in good audio cd format not low quality mp3.....is there a way i could get them in high quality ??? ......
the reason why iam askin is cos sometimes when i ask where i could get this track the artist have themsleves told that i could download it as it would never be released....but sorry i want them in better quality......
PS please dont start a mp3 war....this topic is not about mp3s......

I guess it depends on how the artists think is convinient in the end.
What I done when giving away tracks is stick them on an FTP as FLAC files. Since it is lossless, you will get a bit-by-bit copy when uncompressing to wav. Filesize normally turn out around 60% of the original and compression/decompression is very quick.

hehehe...well that was before i set up my convinient shopping cart on resonantearth which saves me the hassle of administering ftp accounts and helps me pay my server costs 
For free it's only 128k mp3's now I'm afraid.
Some 20 spindrifts on there from this year.

no there is not..  don't you think it's pretty obvious??
or maybe you should contact them all and explain how super ultra cool guy and fan you are and how much your life would be better if they sent you the unr killers on cdr or something..
wouldn't hurt if you offered to pay em 10€ a track or something.. "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

don't you think it's pretty obvious by the discussion here that there is ppl that like to give away thier music as well.....maybe not in your world, but in the one i live in those kind of ppl actually exist luckily....everyone is not in it for the profit and just want fans to hear the music if they want to.
And there is plenty of producers doing a lot more than they could possibly expect to release.

besides you can't compare yourself with the big guys... imagine how many contacts they'd start getting if they started giving out their shit for free..

Well I know quite a few...but I would guess you wouldn't have noticed because you seem to think anything unreleased is evil.
Most of the time the artists let the tracks out themself.
And psyk asked how to do because he know some artists that would let him get copies. He didn't say that it's many artists or anything like that, so I fail to see what you mean with "no there is not.. don't you think it's pretty obvious?? ".
There is artists that still have the spirit of making music for fun, and just want people to have access to it, and don't care if they maybe get the track out on a comp and get $150 dollar after 1-2yrs or let it rot in a drawer to be forgotten.
And the "big guys" can do what they like...no-one is bigger in this scene than making an ok carpenter salary...that might be ok for them...i would never like to make my living out of making music on that level either...i know quite a few big guy's, and belive me, they have to struggle a lot, and it's very hard on the inspiration to have to make enough tracks each month to pay the rent...so i don't aspire to get in to their situation (``·.¸(``·.¸(``·.¸¸.·`´)¸.·`´)¸.·`´)

guys please dont get me wrong here.....i dont intend to only get them for free....i wouldnt mind payin for the tracks......but it does feel wierd to ask an artist "hey i want that unrel track of urs ,so how much do i pay" ..... and considering the fact that there are so many lost tracks, forgotten tracks and unrel music cant all artists do somethin like spindrift.....open a shop or somethin or maybe give (sell) these cds when they come to play or something.......

iam sure these unrel tracks spread on the internet had come from a good source....so the artists must be havin them in good quality....no transfer to be made i guess.....
