Lynch is the crazy stuff master.
Have you seen "Lost Highway"?? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116922/

Cause I think "Mullholand Drive" makes sense in many ways.
After the 9th/10th time I watched, some things started to get crystal clear.

Did you also see Inland Empire??? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460829/
Now that's crazy stuff, imo.
And Laura Dern ir actually fantastic on this one.

Rgds!!

No, I haven't watched Lost Highway yet, but it has been on my to-see list for a long time.

Anyway, I've seen Mulholland Drive a couple of times, and, of course, I've got my theories, but to cement them I ought to indulge more deeply into dream interpretation, as a lot of the characters might be symbols, i.e. the espresso-loving guy or the cowboy etc. I see that film as a parable for the disillusions with the Dream of Hollywood-Fame, framed into dream-scenario, which hieves the whole thing into twilight zone...and that makes it almost impossible for me to fully grasp it.

My to-see list also features Inland Empire, btw

Yes, very true.
You can notice when the "dream" start / ends.

On the beggining of the movie, the camera slowlly goes into the room, and sort of falls into the pillow.
Dream starting - she's Betty, btw. A young talented actress with lots of future trying her life in Hollywood.

And then, when she goes to bed with "Rita" (Laura Hering) and wakes up as Diane (her real life caracter.)
Dream ending - A 2nd class actres that only gets the parts that Camila sets for her.

When I realized that, things started to get clearer.
Just like you said:

Watch the other two when you have a chance, btw.

I think, SOMETIMES, the images may be too "heavy", sort of speak.
And the camera spins a lot when another scene is entering, which I realy liked, despite some people (my aunt, for example) got sick while watching it.

Great movie, btw!!

Twisted and Disturbing movies hmmmm let me see.

Salo : By far the most disturbing movie of all times by Pasolini.Rape, torture, coprolagnia you name it its all here.

Un Chien Andalou : David Lynch seems like a cartoon director when compared to the MASTER Luis Bunuel.16 crazy surreal minutes created with the help of Salvador Dali.A womans open eye,a razorblade, the rest is history.

Freaks : One of the most disturbing movies of all times and imagine its more than 70 years old, what you see is 100% real, even today i get scared everytime i see it although i shouldnt, dam this one is very spooky.

Bitter Moon : Twisted and disturbing love movie by the master Roman Polanski dealing with many taboo human relationship issues.A favorite of mine.

Do all the extreme horror japanese, german and italian films count? If yes then i got a huge list dealing with necrophilia and torture plus the classic italian mondo cane series and cannibal holocaust horror sequels.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!
