Just make sure you guys know what you are getting into before you spend 30 dollars to get in.

Tsunami don't really have the best track record lately in terms of living up to what they put on paper for their parties. For something like 5 out of their last 6 events in NY they either: Did not bring the artist(s) they promised (for whatever excuse they could muster up), Shut down the party earlier then what was listed, Cancelled the whole party without bothering to notify anyone (my personal experience with their WMC party in South Beach) or just generally disappointed people in one way or another with their attitude towards their crowd.

Just so you guys all know, I have nothing personal against Tsunami or John Emmanuel, I have just been burned way too many times by them, usually from sticking up for them here in this forum and then have what I said come back like a boomerang and make me look like a fool.

Different subject, but why bring Astral Projection when there are so many other great acts out there that are actually still making good music and not just living off hype from ten years ago? Makes no sense to me. Seems like they always have to bring in the most commercial acts around, with no regard whatsoever to the quality of music that they are making.           Both teams played hard

Tsunami has been trying real hard... there are a few things i never understand there: why do the security people take your driver license into that scanner thing... what is that all about? my problem with tsunami lately are the people in the venue... since they lost the faith of most NYC trancers, tsunami relies on people that come to ARC simply cause its ARC and they wouldve come there if there was salsa, deep house, trance or polka... so the vibe is not always what i look for when i go to a party...
i was however at the SUN project party and it wasnt that bad... the sound was EQ'ed improperly, and drinks are very expensive and watered down.

Top 5 reasons I would not go for this party:
1. Tsunami cannot and will not be trusted by me. Way too many disappointments to bother going to their events any more.
2. Arc has a tendency to attract clubbers and not trancers - the result of which is a bunch of drunk fucks looking to get into a fight or get into some chicks pants - very bad vibe.
3. The parties always end really early.
4. The Security at the arc are not the most charming humans on this planet.
5. Astral Projection

Do you think its a bad idea that i planned to take 4-5 ppl to see astral for their first trance party ? I know that its not the best venue, org, or music but i thought that it might be more accessible and hence they wouldnt have such a shock I hope i didnt make a mistake. I mean since 10 yrs ago they got thousands of ppl into trance maybe they can continue doing so . . . .           ein chadash tachat hashemesh. there is nothing new under the sun. --kohelet.

I've been to a few of Tsunami's events. Each one was a let down. There are other organizations in NYC that throwing much nicer events. Save your money and support them.           It's moving so fast, it's standing still.

i dont understand why people have to be so negative. ok, tsunami let you down before but i think that many ppl can have a wonderful time at their parties, i think that they are trying very hard. I ordered tickets in advance for this and they sent me a free tales of the inexpressible album with them. i already have it but the gesture is nice. most other parties are better, arc isnt great, but i dont believe that anything else is happening that weekend. what i mean to say is that tsunami is not an evil company and do not deserve a boycott.           ein chadash tachat hashemesh. there is nothing new under the sun. --kohelet.

Zero - Im sorry, don't mean to get you down buddy. But please be careful, hopefully Tsunami has changed its ways - All the better for all of us. I think Ill wait for a few good parties of theirs to happen before I reconsider going to one their events nonetheless. Plus I agree with twitch when he says save your money and support the others that are nice to us nyc trancers

Ive been to a couple tsunami parties - one in NYC and one is Peurto Rico - plus a small one in Miami - I had a great time at all of em.

A friend of mine bought tix for the party and got a FREE Tales CD as well. Sounds good to me.           no sig
