Well I have to disappoint you, I was at Guest House last night, next door to Spirit, when I came outside around 11 pm heading home, there was already a line of kids with baseball caps lining up to to get in and the line went already around the corner and that just on a random Thursday night at 11 pm.

what does that have to do with tsunami parties on friday nights? what makes that thur. random? maybe it was a big night for a diffrent crowd type.. that place has psytrance only once a month. and most of all -how does that dissapoint me?

C'mon, people stop that complaining about the Spirit, the crowd, promoters.....
It's the same story over and over again. Nothing is going to change. We've seen parties at Spirit and Avalon, we all know what's going on there, the vibe the crowd, etc......so stop complaining about it every single time, it gets annyoing. Every time there is a post of a party in Avalon or Spirit I see 3-4 pages of complains. Please STOP IT.
The promoters won't listen to you and won't respond to you because they're making tons of money on these parties either way (thanks to "unfriendly" crowd)
I've expressed my frustration with this venues a few times in the past, got absolutely nowhere with that, so I stopped....and you should too.

In my opinion we should be happy that we have an alternative party on that day and not complain about two parties on the same date.

The only request I would add to the promoters is to stop posting parties on this forum that will take place in those venues.

space shark: i hope your request is turned down. artists such as hujaboy, hallucinogen, gadi, have played there and rocked the house for those into it for the music. although it would be nicer for more friendly locations.

We shouldn't stop complaining

AVALON and SPIRIT Sucks Big Time

It's a shame for organizers to use those places for parties
it just shows they are only here for the money

A Good party is just not about the Music
It's about the people and the Location

What about Cielo ???

this place is certainly one of the most decent in the city
but almost never get booked

Why ???

Because cielo makes tons of money almost every night of the week, and they restrict ticket price.

I gotta disagree with all the negativity surrounding spirit... the last show there (halucinogen) was atypical in terms of crowd because of all the discobuiscuit fans. Spirit has a much better crowd then avalon, and for a lineup like dino and S.P. the trancers will turn out in force. Totally worth it, in my book...

yes it may be true, partys are partys ,and dino is amazing and have seen bambo already and this is in mannhattan, and i saw the pics of the partys from astrix and it accually looked pretty nice so Im there lol,

but still dont get why obviosly 2 big promotors make such big line ups on the same day... all they do is lose money and obviosly beeing one of the only 2 promotors kind of a rivalry.. promotor wars... not to much trance spirit

Well, as I understand it Tsunami has a party on the third friday of every month... that's the deal with spirit, so the dates can't be changed. Also, this fact has been public for at least three months now. Now, if I know this, I assume that most of the other promoters do as well... and have for a while...

I agree with you on the first one, I agree with you on the second one too, but come on people we do have alternatives in NYC , it’s a small scene here but we have a number of organizers each on his own “level” and each draws slightly different crowd, if you want big names go to tsunami parties (awesome line up for next party ), you have Aladdin’s parties they are less commercial parties but still with enough “fluffy” music (if you want to call it like that I like it ), and then TDC guys whom are dark and underground(keep it real guys ) All those not mentioning all the other promoters who are putting a tremendous afford in the psy scene in the city and bring us small, intimate and FREE parties. So stop bitching about it and “chose your own ground” and give some props to the guys who do hard the work .
