Dancing Coriander King i want to ask you a question ,do you believe that in about 200 years anyone will have a recording of Astral Projection like they have
today recordings of Bethoven and Mozart? do u believe anyone will bother to save this kind of music, like trance ,progressive trance and all that stuff? i dont think so..i willing to bet that in 2200 people will still learn about the music of Bethoven ,Mozart and all the great composers of
the past and not about some period in human history when people listened to technocratic music. and if u dont agree with what i'm saying ,u need to see the following two movies that describe the future - one is the movie Alien 1
and the other is Clockwork Orange ,in both those futuristic movies made by genious directors no one of them tried to put innovative
music and to guess the music of the future, instead they inserted in the movie sublime music as a mean to express great ideas,i dont think that if those movies were made in our time ,the directors wouldnt chose the type of electronic music today to express the same ideas...well may be Ollie Olsen:)) |

seen both movies
is that really relevant certainly, i think of all trance producers, if any stand a chance of being recognised in 200 eyars time then astral do
but tahts irrelevant, because i didnt say anything about that
trance IS music jsut the same as rock and roll is music just the same as neoclassical, romantic or hip hop are music
maybe a lot of trance isnt particularily musical, in the sense that it doesnt shift pitch, go through comple chord progressions or have catchy melodies, but why shouldnt it be? some artists produce music which is both musically clever, and describable as trance
the fact that film directors dont use trance in their films doesnt mean that its not music
the soundtrack to clockwork orange is a contemporary form of music, just as is trance
so youd describe that soundtrack as trance would you? well, bout 2 years ago, i think hooj choons, there was a trance track released that sampled the themetune to clockwork orange
now that was both the clockwork orange theme tune...music... and trance
like i said, its about definitions
trance is music its a style of music music is rythm and melodic sounds (that deosnt necessarily mean tune... just listen to some african tribal music) thats what trance is therefore its music
much trance might not be particularily brilliant in terms of musical technicality or whatever, but so what? like i say, listen to 9th century church music that is the past of all msuci we have today
yet its dull as hell its not musical at all but its still music |

Cozy - do you believe that ANY electronic stuff will be listened in 200 years? Nothing is eternal. And trance music has it's validity term. So enjoy it now. Or don't enjoy. Trance is music, house is music and digital hardcore is also music. If you say that track will exist 3 years or 5 years and after that it will be forgot - that's not music, then pop is not music too. And rock is not music. Famous classics only. That's bullshit. And don't worry what will be in 200 years - noone of us will know it exactly. And noon cares. |

Se will all be dead in 60 + - years from now depends on your age. But due to the upcomming nueclear holacaust it doesn't matter.
my point is: who cares what will go around in 200 years from now??? you won't be able to know what happened anyway...
enjoy the fucking moment! and stop thinking so much, it's not good for you :) |

nah nah
u got it all wrong
i will live for 300 years because im going to stick my brain in a freezer
seriously though, why shouldnt ppl be listening to electronic music in 300 years? the fact is that old composers are losing ground to todays youth
and youth ahs the power to change all
many electronic producers are the pioneers of this generationsm incredible music that will indeed go down in history we scorn it, because its what we hear all the time
but the future will look back on some of what is made now as revolutionary
perhaps this is where some ppl think of tracne as not being music
that which they would describe as not music will not go down in the history books
but actually, there a few acts, astral, hallucinogen, sandman, who proably will be rememberd in the elctronic scene in 200 years#
becuz they pioneered a revolution in music

What 80s music do you hear the most on the radio? The good ones or the chart hits?
Unfortunately, people will define 90s music by boybands and britneys. |

you all talk non-sense about past and future. the fact that people still listen to bethoven is not relevant to the point that its good. but more relevant to the fact that someone or some group of people wanted this music to be kept alive to this day. many of those people died without gaining any recognition. why bother if anyone will listen to posford in the future? can u really tell the future?? if u think that clock work orange was about the future well dear u r so wrong its about the present. u and even 10000 like u cannot tell what will happen in the future so give it a break and enjoy what ever u enjoy NOW!
