Hi all

Me and my hubby is from Cape Town SA, we are in the process of Moving to Aukland.
We love trance and pretty much live it ... (hubby is a trance dj)
Can any one tell us were the party's are at ?
How is the trance scene in NZ ?

Thanks

Hi Fullom

Tried it, posted a message a week and a bit ago and have had no reply. Dont know if there isn't much of a tance scene or if the ppl are just not as friendly as I'm use to here in SA. Thats why I thought I'd come and have a look here, thought I'd have more luck.

Heyya, the scene gets a bit regressive in winter here but come summer should be a little more action.

More down south than Auckland mind you.Don't get too excited about the scene here though, it will be a lot smaller than your used to but it is there!

and Kiwis by nature are a friendly bunch too!          (`*•.¸(`*•.¸ ¸.•*´)¸.•*´)

Make sure you guys make the misson down to the South Island for a party or two over summer. We've got a few nice wee partys lined up for this season...

Scorpian Ball + CatDoof - November
AlienNation - February ( Definately worth making the mish down for)

There'll be a smattering of other partys as well, generally every two or three weeks over the height of summer.

Also check www.psy-tearoa.com, much of the trance scene in NZ is down south, don't expect much up North!!!

Good Luck...

Very easy, take a ferry (3hrs) or fly in a small plane.

Ferry is better, nice ride and scenic.

check

http://www.interislander.co.nz/Default.aspx

or google bluebridge ferries

Same kind of luck you had while you were there mate, funny how you moved out of NZ at the same time i did!! But to answer your question, no i don't feel i had bad luck in NZ, i met a bunch of hearty people (Mostly foreigners, You and your partner included, and a handfull of dedicated Kiwi's) we organised a bunch af parties and a few festivals while in NZ, had lots of fun while it lasted, alas Auckland is not NZ, it's the shitiest place in NZ, as i said before the scene is very small, and people are not open to suggestions, one of the few major differences between NZ and OZ. Maybe the reason why the scene doesn't grow is exactly that, organisers make the same mistakes over and over.
Plus as mentioned before, winter in NZ kills any kind of hope for the Psy scene, agreed summer is the best time, shame it only lasts for 2 months, then you get 10 months of freesing wet weather in Auckland.

Again, try down south if you want to feel a proper psy-vibe. Forget Auckland!! As to how big the scene is, all you have to do is go to the three web-sites we mentioned and check out how many posts they have and how active they are, should tell you a lot.

PS " Panorama, asta la proxima amigo!!!

Over and out of NZ for good!!
