Was listening to Entheogenic - Pagan Dream Machine and they seem to have the exact same sample from Bob Holroyd - Adrift in Kerala which have been used on OTT - Smoked Glass and Chrome!!

Ofcourse they have some other samples too, but thats one of the samples used. The original song is "Aao Hujoor Tumko Sitaro Mein Le Chalu" from a Bollywood soundtrack somewhere in the late 60's to early 70's.

...Nice to know that mate...

The sample is also on a track on Stoned Asia vol4 & the first track on the Namaskar comp- so its been used 3 or 4 times in the last few years...

Just out of curiousity - is it from a sample CD? Seems unlikely all 3 or 4 artists would independently sample the tune from the same source unless it was a sample CD?

It would appear to be the famous Asha Bhonsle - the one referred to in 'Brimful of Asha'

Allright Paul!

I even found this- but couldn't find the song in it: http://www.asha-bhonsle.com/

Psy-tripper, can't you ask your dad or someone?

I really want to find the original- so I need a film name!           ---------------------------------------------

Shahar, heres the link:

http://www.hamaracd.com/hcdinternational/asp/vaGiftIdeas.asp?GiftId=G109&Page=2

Its the last song on that page. The song is from a 1968 movie called Kismat. The singer is indeed Asha Bhosle, too bad the sample available is only 29 secs long.

The song is also available on a compilation CD called "HMV Golden Collection of Asha Bhonsle 3". HMV is a major record label in India, though I'm not sure whether they sell stuff online.

I'm sure this will help, though we still havent heard from Ott^ about the sample!           Don't Worry, Stay Trippy!

OK, a bit late in the day but if anyone is still reading....

Try 'Best Of Asha Bhosle - The Golden Voice Of Bollywood' ASIN: B000050XHR. The track in question (Aao Huzoor Tum Ko) is number 7 on the CD. It's available at Amazon.

However.

If you listen carefully, I'm pretty sure there's a second sample going on in there - Asha in the 'verse' sections, and another for the 'chorus' sections. I've read somewhere that (The Blessed) OTT is quite secretive about the origins of this track and its samples, so I have a theory that really its (The Blessed) OTT himself, maybe singing in the bath, at double speed through a really good autotune.....

Anything by Idan Raichel Project. In fact, get your hands on his album (selftitled) if you get the chance!           Ed (Delusional)

Hello people,

Could anyone suggest any other tracks like OTT - Smoked glass and chrome or Entheogenic - Level One which has Hindi samples?

Smoked glass and chrome is one of the most psychedelic-creations I have ever heard, absolutely stunning, I get goose poems every time I listen to this tune… It elevates my consciousness…
