I liek DJing.....the ART OF......

I liek SOUND.....not just the sound of PSY!

I don;t just wanna be a TRANCE producer one day.

I will try to be much more.

producing for me is something i do for myself... if i like the product i smile and feel like i've accomplished something. in the long run, of course, i'd like to play to a crowd... but in the end its about finding a hobby that makes you happy.

I think that writing music is more than just a hobby, Caligula...

It's more than just a hobby or a career... it is a release of pure emotion.

Like you say... it's for yourself.

When I write a piece of music.... i don't think about it while I'm writing it... I just let the music write itself. When it's done, i'll tinker with all the technical goodies and polish off the sound of the track and maybe fill it up a bit more....

I think we need more people writing music for themselves and from their hearts.....

Anyways... keep the faith, guys.

i use the word hobby merely to describe the release of creative energy outside work... basically it falls into that category for me if i'm not dedicating a substantial proportion of my life to it. i would if i could, but unfortunately one needs to make cash. such a pity. so many stifled artists of varying form out there...

while it is a creative art, it also remains a learning experience, even for the most experienced... each little step is a tiny journey of discovery... and every step of the way is coated in creation and experimentation. the connection with emotion is on a far more subconscious level than my comment encapsulated... but i fully agree with you.

and yes, as bon jovi so succinctly put... 'keep the faith'

Sarasin, ....i was not trying to stir shit with my comment, i was just giving you and everyone to think about , with what you were suggesting...so please dont get over-defensive and rather just discuss it like an adult, but so far you have done that superbly , soso no worries dood.

i think as far as showing the song playing,...this is why not...

1) if you want the dj set to be supontaneous , say the dj choses track x, who programs the board? the dj? he wont have time or its too much of a lus, if its all pre-programmed, then you as aq dj should know....what the fuck is the point...

though i know of a few dj's who pre-decide sets......(i don tagree with this)

2)for the srtist playing, you dont need some fancy board , you just need the tiime schedule.....put it on the flyer...or whatever....then people can check out whoever they want whenever and know who is playing by checking their watches.....if the set is killer, then they can respect.

as far as recognition goes,....

dont kid yourself sarasin....it's all about recognition ...

life is about recognition, to be recognised by your fellow man, your loved ones and closest friends...

it makes you feel special inside, all children strive for recognition , especially from their parents, most kids who dont get their parents recognition often fuck out, end up with major head problems and can have serious issues with life...

i think , and you might not agree with me, but their should be a heneral human nature to want to strive forward,,,,to be the best.,.to be recognised, thats what drives some of the best sportsmen, musicians, businessmen, a mix of sheer passion and the drive to be the best.,..

so how does one judge the best....through recognition obvioulsy, the best arer recognised by everybody for being the best.

i believe you Sarasin that you dj psy because you have a passion and love for it, but i dont believe that you are not interested in recognition.

i produce, and i am actually very talented and good at what i do and filled with potential, unfortunaterly due to other life constraints at the moment i cant do what i love doing best, its harsh , but thats life, but when in the future i maybe get a chance to do more of what i love , i am all for recognition, most peoples trip is the party, my trip is while i am producing, every beat , every bar, tuning sounds, building a melody layering the foundations of a thundering bassline.....i do it for myself, but that doesnt mean i am not interested in recognition.....fuck ya i am , one day i will get it.....but i dont want it through a board which reads my name out....

i think there is this stigma that is awesome for the listener to be watching, dancing and listening to this guy play, and not knowing who it is, but knwing what you are expierencing is amazing, and then finding out what you are listening to , or who....its apart of it,....

then again, maybe we should take our lessons from Goa,.....no one gives a shit there who is playing.....its all about the music.

No one said anything about track titles.

Just the DJ or Artists name.

l337.....

I been mixing since i was 17.
Ten years now.

Yes....it is teh recognition too.
But once you realise that the recognition comes....and thats it.

Then what?

its not cool to have everyone licking your ass.....ok....Skazi might like it.HAHAHHAAH

But you know what i mean.
As you say.....its about teh music....not who your are.

Thats why u regularly see Celebs at trance parties....no one bothers them.

Let them go to Rhodes House....they will be mobbed no doubt.

So the recognition wanting fades....and then you realise that you do it....cuz it MOVES you personally....when you use your talent and succeed.

We need to make ourselves proud.

Not be told by others....

Thats insecurity.

Believing in yourself....and confidence makes a HUGE differance when doing a performance.

Its fact.           Beartrap - SA

Talk about bad vibes... I think Alot of posters on this SA forum has a veeerrrrrryyyy big issue With the R in plur.. In most topics i've seen people being totally assaulted for giving there opinions and "tastes" in psytrance, As the posters on this forum and artists making music..

I mean come on you guys, Why all the negativity? Some of you have a very big issue with "unwanted crowd" i can understand the violent crowd, but you all give into the "violence"(verbaly) amongst yourselves. In portugal you get the Fashion guy to the hippy to the man in a tuxido to the junkie lying on the floor.. But we tend to have something at partys that lacks alot on this forum wich is respect.

I dont beleive party vibes are as you guys make it seem here on forums, but i tell you, More respect is needed for the producers Who make music first for themselves and if you dont like it dont listen!, No need to attack them verbally as it was seen on the Best SA producer (Wich had to be locked! cause ppl couldnt respect, thats insane!). And then you complain about "comercial music" Well if they made music for the purpose of suiting your ears, Hell i call that commercial!

I think alot of you really really need to think 2 times before posting and verbally assaulting your fellow psymates and producers with harsh critisism as you do(obviosly not refering to everyone) And remeber what the seen was built on That is respect and love and unity as 1 on the dancefloor.... Try to bring that more into forums And for the sake of the forum and your people Keep it P.L.U.R.

Giving an opinion is constructive, Uninteligently assaulting ur fellow psymate isn't and has nothing to do with our scene, and i think moderators should ban those who cannot respect there fellow members...

Those our my 2 euro cents.

Nicely said Psy_active.

Respect to you!

A lot of youngsters in the scene do not understand and know PLUR like the experienced trancer.

To them it seems SILLY.....or not MANLY....due to the Peave and Love....

But most important and fundimental....is RESPECT!

Then Understanding.....

Then you will experience Peace and Love within the trance community for yourself.

but RUPL is not easy to pronounce.
