You know, I don't get offended by the constant negative posts, but at the same time it does paint a picture of the people that make those type of posts. The object of this thread was to make people think about what they are saying and how it affects the world around them. If you subscribe to the idea that you get back what you put in, then many of us have unpleasant things coming back to us at some point.
What prompted me to rehash this old idea is the fact that I was under the impression that this music that we listen to taught a little more than sonic masturbation and chemical hedonism. (and I am not just speaking about drugs) Perhaps that isn't the case and I have been seeking a deeper meaning from something that doesn't actually have one, it's just dressed up that way to get all the wannabe forward thinkers to subscribe to the concepts and buy more junk. Perhaps the people that have found their deeper meaning in the music don't bother to share their discoveries to other for fear of ridicule.
I have always been incredibly interested in sociology and the behavior of large people in groups. I also was raised ideallistically and thought that you don't shit on the things you love... Maybe I am wrong... Sorry to have wasted all of our time. I think I will go back to my bubble and continue to do my music.

I, personally, don't have anything against people that make or like dark psy, heavy metal, polka or whatever. What i do dislike is the music itself. Man i wrote a postsometime ago based on fairly the same statement having to do with what Megevet and Pavel wrote about criticism is good for everybody, it is a way to get the forum to grow and to say that not everything is KILLA, but it has to be constructive criticism.

That is true, but it doesn't mean you can belittle anyone just because you think it's funny...
And I do welcome criticism when people know how to do it correctly. I tend to see more destructive criticism than the constructive.
It's also a little difficult not to take something personally if it is attacking something that is really dear to you. Musical taste is a very personal thing, such as poltical views and of course people are going to get a little defensive if something that they truly care about gets attacked. I may just put way too much of my energy into this music, but being able to express my personality through the music whether I am making it, playing it, or listening/dancing to it has really assisted me in my personal development. Perhaps though that that is my personal thing and I can understand that people do not share the same views that I do about this subject. One of the direct consequences of living near San Francisco is that the hippies have rubbed off on me and I really pay attention to how people treat each other.

Now seriously, people who get offended by other people saying "i think you make bad music" or even "i think your listening to crappy kiddo music", thats what those forums are all about, to hear openions from different kinds of people..

since u are reading this thread then could it possibly mean that u might be deriving some sort of pleasure from reading these off-topic flame threads?
unless u're saying it's like the car accident syndrome where u just can't help but looking at something that makes u feel bad. in that case, don't expect everyone to shield u from all the evils of the world. that's what mental hospitals are for - they'll take good care of u.
and hey, i have no problem with flames at me. it gives me a chance to flame back (until i get bored).

but i agree with you, often i can feel that what i just wrote dont have much to do with the original post, or that it dont reinforce or discard the orginal post..
maybe the discussions that appears is too complicated to give one answer...
and what all of us as individuals can do, is to give our side of the story..
somebody has to lay the puzzle for it to make sense.. if we dont care to do it our selfs.
i demand educated moderators that sum up what has been said and conclude and takes the topic on right track again, instead of locking and deleting, its just a sign of lazyness and uninvolvement.. almost like politicians, they dont try to fix the problem, instead go around them or make a quick fix..
i always like when somebody sum things up and tries to make a sensible conclution about whats been said...
things like that gives knowledge..
i mean its just crazy to throw out lots of arguments without conclude them...
its bound to get dizzy... i think the music is having too big effect on us! lol
