is there really a choice here?

Is there really anyone out there who prides themselves on their conformity?

Personally I have no choice but to be myself. My knee-jerk response to conformity is defiance. Its not even a matter of thinking about it. To me it would be like trying to breathe underwater.           .

in certain places of the world sheep are considered by some an alternative to women...

Yep....

The US has plenty of sheeplovers. Theres no denying it!

That and cow-tippers. Nothing funnier than a sleeping cow falling over. Right?           .

Whats wrong with a man and a sheep being romantic together? They don't do that in other countries?

anyone heard about Albert Ayler? he was a innovator in the "free jazz" genre...

i think that its hard to drift away too much from harmony as we know it... meaning strong consonance.. without losing audience,
as often the new and so called original music, is music that drifts away from the traditional and conventional.

Albert Ayler tried to incoporate some traditional melodies into his own music.. i dunno if that helped him...

a question is if its harder to be conventional and mainstream than to be original...
i mean anyone can be original by just doing things his/hers own way... if you dont reflect over other things, just focus on the thing you do.. no need to compare or anything... can it become anything else but original? if your intentions are to be original.. dont confuse the word original with soulfull, because they dont have to have a connection.

now of course labels want something stabel and "good" sounding if they want it to sell..
but there are lables that are very "Avant-garde"
and wants innovative different music...

my idea is just, if its sounding good to me its good... it can be original or unoriginal.
but i also must think that i have been trained to listen to certain music and lots of music has matured within me...

sometimes when an artist tries really hard to be original, it can end up not sounding like anything, and with no point of reference it could be difficult to get into it.

To me, it seems the first thing should be doing it well, no matter how original, once you can do it well you can then move on to originality. Its like learning to speak English, then writing poetry in English. You dont want to try and write English poetry before you know English...           .
