Hi all!

There are a lot of people from forum and not, who are sending me messages on my ICQ and just everywhere asking if i have unreleased tracks. I usually answer in the same way. I have some unreleased tracks, but i never really look for them. And i just listen to the music that is good, and not to the music that is unreleased. You know, some unreleased tracks are sooo bad, but people say: "Oh my god! This is such an amazing track, it's unreleased..." And I'm just wondering, why are unreleased tracks so important for everyone? Don't we have enough of released stuff??? And are unreleased tracks really better than released? I just think, that if now this track is unreleased, then one day it will be released, and if it isn't, then it's probably not good enough to be released...
Or maybe it's just some kind of a race. People are trying to get more unreleased stuff to tell their friends, that they've got tracks noone else has... Then i think it's not about music anymore, it's about collecting...

So i want to know your opinion about unreleased stuff. Is it really that important to get all the unreleased tracks that you can find??? Why are they better than released???

if unreleased stuff were better than released then they would either be released or labels would start selling unreleased!           in search for an answer...

that is it!
ppl who chase after unreleased tracks just collect music (dont know why), all they want is lots of lots of music, i really dont think they have enough time to listen to the stuff they get (and i think they dont care about it)....

All tracks are unreleased first, only the good ones get released.

PS
my tracks are unreleased....

its a status thing i figure... especially with djs! and pretty lame altogether i would say. i have about three amazing killer unreleased songs but that doesn't satisfy me - i want the songs on DAT or something, not mere mp3s. its particularly comical considering that most people collection of unreleased is 90% fake/misnamed garbage.

but, like most things on the net... if ya ain't diggin it you can easily ignore the practise. it don't hurt none.. just don't respond to the egomaniacs who, in their hysteria, push out the qualified and passionate record players at various parties worldwide... it helps when the audience is more than a mindless drug-addled horde, churned into a frenzy at any sound approximating a steady beat... of course, to each their own

PS some fabulous tracks ARE unreleased... think of certain pink floyd remixes. not all unreleased is terrible, of course... but there's no point in making the status of release the main criteria in choosing music. go collect stamps if thats your thing.

I'm not a DJ, and I think unreleased tracks are just tracks like any others. Some are good, most of them are bad, just it...

But some good DJs seek unreleased too (not mp3, but CDs or DATs). Some DJs are even famous for playing mostly unreleased...

I like good stuff, and in a way I hate unreleased stuff, just because I went to the parties, hear the amazing killer unreleased tracks and have to wait more than 6 months to have it... I hate this...

That happened with "Boom Shakar", now released as "Spliffpolitics" in the No Rules GMS CD. I was played in every party, and now that it's released nobody plays it anymore... And I think it's as killer as a full on killer can be...

Now one thing I would like to know is how can there be unreleased mp3 on the net? Who put it there?

People want to get everything before someone else gets it. Just a competition, nothing more. People don't give a damn about the music, only about names.
If someone has a new Infected unrl that no one else has everyone looks at him like he is a god.

yes tomaz
that's the main reason for the new top10 section (i think...).
every "kid" went there and wanted to show off his unreleased tracks. then all the other kids went chasing after them.
but the idea is good, unreleaseds are for big DJ's who get them from the label. they promote the new tracks (sometimes from unknown artists) and a few months later, after you loved them at parties, you get to buy them.

ps. some unreleased don't get released from other reasons (copyrights).

cheers, gilad.           REHAB is for quitters

another one: i love hearing in a party a new album that i just bought, that is the best, when u love the fresh CD and know every second of each track.....
that is the best
what i hate in the unreleased that when u hear a really good track in a party, for example Teder Beseder, you have to wait a really long time till it gets released, that procedure makes your feeling towards that special track to dissapear during that "release" time....
Promotion is the only thing that i think about when i hear the name unreleased

Mike, i agree 100%! This is it! It's all about the names...

You know, just for a joke, i will change a name of some unpopular and bad track to a track of Infected Mushroom, and i'll give it a name, that noone ever heard of, and then i'll put it in Soulseek and in Kazaa, and i'll share it with everyone. And i can bet that people will download it and say that it's a masterpiece. That's life...

I think that DJs mostly seek for unreleased, but not everything only really good tracks, because they always try to make the crowd amased from the new music.
Yes, there are some who want to be "cool" because they have something that others haven't....
I don't agree with KosMos that the unreleased tracks are not released because aren't good, because in Macedonia there is one producer called OGI DOGY who makes amazing music, maybe the best I have ever listened to, but from some x reasons it is not released. As we all hope it will be released soon...
