Well unfortunately there are very few reviews I read that I base my trust on them.
1 of them is Kaz (if he says it's good - it's good! ). The second is Traveller.

It's very sad that I cannot believe half of the reviews being written here. But as somebody wrote earlier, most ppl writing reviews are unprofessional reviewers, and it's a forum for everybody and everybody can write here. So I don't think we can do much about it.           Majority is never right!

Do you really think that Kaz and Traveller are professional reviewers? They know how to express themselves well and also like the same kind of music as u do... That makes them pro reviewers exactly as it makes you a professional reviews reader...

Having said that I actually like to read what Kaz and Traveller write so please don't take it personally, but I doubt how many 'professional' reviewers there are in the forum ( except one that lI know does it for living in a newspaper - THAT is professional btw )           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

Traveller is a Twisted whore who gives 10/10 to everything that has Twisted written on it.

Just kidding, he makes good reviews that i also like to read.

"umm this doesn't sound any innovative, boring bassline & no flow, let's turn off the cd-player. ummmh. no, wait!! what am i thinking? this is a twisted release for god's sake! let's listen to this 15-hours more in-a-row, maybe ill find, i mean i must find something interesting from here..

15-hours later & 7 packs of marlboro smoked.. *boom* *boom* this begins to sound good, yeah, whoow!! did you hear that, did you hear that!! one sound changed in 15hours!, yes, woow! this is for sure 10/10, no doubts about that. Thank you twisted! once again you surprised us.

Bad choice of word from my part indeed Yuli.
But u understand what I meant.

What I wanted to say is that I see ppl that like the same music like me, and I know I can trust their musical taste, so I read carefully what they write and base my opinion upon that.           Majority is never right!

I'll echo a few things that other people have said in this thread -

When I write a review, it is going to be something descriptive and well thought out. I put a lot of effort into my reviews and I like to think they are pretty OK. I really have to like something to take that time to write about it. If I don't like a CD, I don't want to waste an hour or two (sometimes more) listening to it and trying to express my reaction in words.

Also, since I don't have a lot of money to buy music, I really research what I buy before I buy it. I listen to as many samples that I can find before I spend the money. The result is that it is extremely rare that I end up with a CD or vinyl that I don't like (unless I'm buying a lot of 10-15 records on ebay ).

That being said, if I do find a negative point in a CD, I won't fail to mention it. If I don't think it flows well as an album, or I don't like a particular track, or if all the tracks sound the same, I will say it. But if I really dislike something entirely, I won't take the time to write about it and more likely won't have bought it anyways.

In the course of making purchases, I hear a lot of samples that I think totally blow - but I'm not going to write a review about samples.

I usually don't like bad reviews, because they're empty, or better, full of meaningless stuff like: "this CD is shit", "Crap production" or just .

I wanna see bad reviews with stuff that make me understand why you think it's bad, like: "This track is not as good as that other from the same artist, because blah, blah, blah...". I wanna know why you think it's bad.
This is a positive topic...
Respect!

hey man

so man pls start a topic with a cd review that you dont like ..that i can get an example how to do an "bad cd report" ...

Well, I was not talking about making a whole CD Reveew about CDs people don't like. I was talking about when I do a review about a CD I like very much, but other people go on the topic and only write meaningless bullshit about the whole album, saying for example that it's all copy & paste music.

I'm not asking for people to start reviewing CDs they don't like. I'm asking for people to stop posting meaningless bad comments in topics already running OR to write bad reviews in topics already running but explaining why you don't like it, with examples and comparations, if possible.

Respect!

i dont wanna talk about these guys they are only write "killa tracks .. i like it"something like this

..my opinion is that these persons dont do a review they only write their feeling about the track or the cd...good reviews are where the reviewer talk about the style of music what happend in the track if its good or bad production and what good or bad is ...

you are right man its borning to see bad reviews where you only read "killa or power" ...but as someone said befor its a free forum everybody can post reviews if he wants to and i think its a good think ...anyway if he is a good, bad or pro reviewer

..i think every reviewer starts anytime anyway if the do a real review or write their feeling..and i give a chance to all

so on guys .. nice greets ..have a nice day ...keep a smile on your face ...bye tom

this forum is only in english and may not be so easy for everyone wishing to express themselves here. most non english speaking persons have a much easier time reading then writing, that's a fact. keep in mind that if i had to express myself in french only, my skills may be reduced to some phrases that i know and i'll repeat them since it takes time and knowledge to have control in a language i do not fully know.
so before anyone rules out some people's abilty to write, think about this factor as well... let's encourage any kind of writing that is trying to be expressive.

Someone did bring up a good point about ths being a free forum, but I still stick by my opinion that some moderating could be done. Why in the top10 and not here? Maybe ruling out all reviews that are too short is a bit harsh but how about deleting posts saying "I have not heard the album, but I am sure that it rocks". If you have not heard the album, why express your opinion about it. I am not talking about not letting people express themselves if we don't like how they do it. On the contrary, let those people that want to express themselves do it, but stop those that have absolutely nothing relevant to say (like the example above) from doing so.
Is moderating the review section so unthinkable after all?           Load Universe into Cannon. Aim at Brain. Fire.

Surrender always full of surprises, wise words mate and I have to agree on that I noticed that most of the reviews are mostly from ESL or ETL and etc. There is a problem of expression!

Music is such a personal thing. I suppose it's hard to moderate because people are always going to write what they think. Plenty of times there are albums that i have got that i love that seem to be pretty much despised amongst others. It doesnt really matter though as it's what i like.

The world would be a pretty boring place if we all liked the same music.

The only reviews i dont really appreciate are all the reviews that go "its shit" and thats about it. Have a reason. Im sure artists dont mind feedback when it's semi constructive.

GUYYYYYSSSSSSSSS
you take it too hard

i think all "Trpi" was ment to say is to be more serious by giving suitable review and rank.

by giving 9/10 to an good average album, u make it nonsense because how much will u give to really massive album? 19/10 ?!?!

bottom line
make it sensible!!!!!!!!!!

ps - do u always have to fight all the time?!
I'm sure most of u know what trip ment to say and most of u agree with him, but "no no no" u have to say something negative! u just have to & i understand it, i know that feeling...hehe

By moderate I did not mean erase whatever you do not agree with, but exactly what you say; get rid of the meaningless "it's shit" posts and the posts that clearly say that the reviewer has not heard the album.           Load Universe into Cannon. Aim at Brain. Fire.

i write mostly for what i get from labels, unless something just inspires me to write about it.

i usually listen as i type, writing about each track as it plays. i will write more for tracks i like cuz they inspire me. tracks i dont like get shorter and more to the point reviews, perhaps suggestions.
mostly i try to be creative in how i explain what i am hearing and what it makes me think. people might not understand my sense of humour or trippy ramblings but owell.

people who have heard me play, in the usa, know what style i spin and can expect me to write about albums in that style.

also i feel that its just a kind gesture to write reviews in return for promo cds. whether or not my reviews sell albums, i dont know, but at least it raises awareness about certain releases and gives people something to laugh about when i explain that i am being sent to outerspace and back by a certain track. hehe

since trance is so vast, putting a rating scale ie 7/10 or whatever is difficult for me since there are so many types and sounds of trance that i cannot easily put number values on it. its hard enough putting words down for something like trance, as i feel that trance is a language in itself, and its very much based on your personal perception.... ie one person can love it , the other hates it, even though they both can hear it and understand the mood....

well anyways.
i enjoy writing and generally get good responses to my reviews, so i will continue.
