So now, I m willing to change my monitors even for a lower price ons such as Mackie hr824 or event asp8. I m sure hat they ll give me more low end feeling compared to smaller ones.

Dude just get this for your BM6A's:

hehehe, EXACTLY what i tought. You forgot the Subs, amigo
If one has a room acoustically prepared for BIG low drivers, one has a room prepared for a subwoofer!

Actually, the vast majority of those cheap near field monitors that doesn`t reach very low frequencies are expected by the manufacturers to be used along a subwoofer. YOu buy the monitors, get pissed, and then you save money and buy the subwoofer.

Subwoofers easily reach 20-25hz, and should solve all problems regarding "feeling" the music (on a nice, prepared room). And with the advantage that they are fully adjustable, both on level and filter crossover... During the months of use and test with PA`s, you can tune them to perfection.

Already having a killer pair of Dynaudios (that reach 41hz), you don`t even need an expesive sub. I believe even cheaper ones shall do the job, afinal, you only need that feel between the 20-40hz.

I didn t forgot no subwoofer, people. You are forgetting how expansive a bm6 with the subwoofer would cost compared to my solution. Yo didn t get the point. If budget wasn t the issue here as well as quality I d go for high end monitors startitng U$5000 each at least...
A pair of event asp8 is a lot cheaper than onlyy the bm6, imagine how expansive does it gets if yo add the subwoofer...

My point is cost X benefit. You d spend U$3000 to build the dynaudio set and I d spend U$1000 with event for instance.

My comparison is between budgets of a small but expansive monitor that wouldn t give you low end compared to a little cheaper ones but with present low frequencies around 35Hz.

Did it make sense now?

No actually you're not really making sense, as you're sacrificing other things to go for this low-end 'feeling'..

I don't know why you would give up accuracy and build quality for just another extra 6hz!           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

1 - who told you event and mackie havent got quality or accuracy? There s a real famous monitor by Event 20/20 which is great ...

2 - And I mtalking about not 5hz but comparing 35 to 50 HZ..if that s make not diference for your mixes, it does to most of people, I believe....

3 - I refer to limited budget. Let s say you have U$1000 or a little more to choose monitor pair...

I don't think your solution is the best just because it is cost effective.

Low end is important, but if you are going to compromise the overall sound just to get as much low end as possible, your obviously going to lack some other key elements.

What I see in a good pair of monitors is a balance and synergy of the whole audible acoustic spectrum. Ofcourse there is always something better, but that is why you adapt to the ones you got and overcome that learning curve.

I <3 my BM6A's.

1 - Have you ever tried the Event asp8? I bet you haven t...so can you compare quality? Can you take a look of some reviews first and see its flat response frequencie range...?

2 - In my point, I was saying to someone that couldn t buy high end monitors. Cause if you won at lottery, Bm6 is far from the best choice about accuracy...When you don t have enough money to buy more expansive units, you just can t choose my friend.

3 - If low end for trance music wasn t the biggest chalenge on trance music, why would mother of kick drum and bassline threads be the most visited and read through this forum? It s not my opinion..the numbers show it...
Let s say that someone has U$1700 to spend on monitors; I don t think is the best option to buy monitors that can t go lower than 50Hz...It doens t matter only if the other frequencies are accurate. And what about the frequencies that it can t reproduce? Shall we dream about them and mix?I d buy the Event asp8, and would also buy a nice D/A converter such as Apogee mini DAC. A lot of people here say a lot of things about monitors and forget that if your sound card has a low D/A capability, you might not be listening to accurate audio as you think you are....And when I refer to Apogee, I m choosing their lower cost product just to fit in my example here.
People who have RMEs, Lynx, etc are ok with d/a, but people who use M-audio, for instance, should consider it.

i think a lot of people produce wonderfull music & basslines woth your monitors, some without any subwoofer.

but, in the end, is also a matter of taste.

have you considered buying some other subwoofer apart from the Dynaudio ones? They don`t need to be from the same brand...

I know it my sound wicked, but check this one:

10" - 20-200hz - crossover 40-150hz... $299
if you only care about specs, there is no problem in buying these.

ok. been thinking about this alot for a long time... bm6 cost about 1500$ the air6 cost about 3500$ has anyone here heard those air6? 2000$ is alot of money and the only difference i see between them is that whole acoustic self adjusment stuff. is that realy worth the extra 2000$ ?
cant find anywhere a good comparison between them . is there anyone here that had the experience maybe?           if u dig deep enough u just might reach the sky...

I own them since 6 month and i'm VERY happy with them. Before i had the krk rp5 which i didn't like at all. Very bright and clear sound, with ENOUGH bass! For this little amount of money, you'll be more than satisfied. (they also have the same height as my tft's, so it's a nice line on my desk ) A good friend who's working in a pro-studio, owns for home use the red passive tannoy's, and will upgrade to the Yams, too!           http://www.myspace.com/axonic
