i have Scarlett 18i6 , in the begginin of the year it had a considerable latency in ableton live and sometimes when project too heavy it would get some anoin lockout in the drive doin an annoyin noise.... but after some updates they did in the drive it got realy solid and good latency... nothing to complain atm... i use 2 sinths with it and sometimes i use the pre amp to play guitar just for fun...
if u really need all those inputs and dont have much money i think its worth...

What about USB 3.0? Anything on the market? Anything on the horizon?
I got one USB 3.0 on my Toshiba. No Firewire.
I will not buy M-Audio of various reasons. Any suggestions below $300? |

I think there aren't any USB 3.0 Audio interfaces yet.. U should switch to USB 2.0 and get a Focusrite Scarlett 18i6.
That´s my opinion

for 550, if you are on mac maybe an apogee duet if it suits your need. Also on mac a MOTU hybrid.
Maybe an rme babyface second hand.

I use EMU 0404 USB 2.0 for Playback and Mindprint Trio USB for Recording, i am pretty happy with those two!

I am using Alva Nanoface card, and i must to admit - Alva got amazingly clean sound, while its price is cheaper than stealing Skazi's CD in local musicshop

change of my prev plan.To make it short I droped my plan with 8 inserts etc, just wanted exactly this:

but to my disappointment I found out that I don't have thunderbolt on my rather new PC and my Mac is shortly before death.
Now I really don't know what to choose. ( I think this new product from focusrite is a revolution quality for this price.I just was so sure with that product 
Now I have to look for something also really very good with USB that is in that same price class. I'm alost sure I won't find anything as good as the new Clarett cards but don't have another choice. Need to find out the best you can get for your bucks, that flows through USB.
Anyone with a quality suggestion on this topic?

I know this interface from intense sessions at SAE, no doubt there is pure quality inside but it's too much for my budget.
Need to look on ebay though maybe I find it affordable.
