This one caught my attention, Focusrite Saffire Pro 24

Seems exactly what I need.
That way I can hook up my Nord to it and add fx over each of it's 4 audio channels in realtime

Any other contenders in this price range?
As my budget is kind of looow.

So I got it for 200 Euros
Initially I though it had a lot more inputs, but it seems to only have 2 line inputs and 2 mic inputs.
Question is: can I use the mic inputs just like the regular line inputs, and therefore use 'm to connect them to my Nord outs?

You can use a mic pad to pad the line level down to mic signal, and then use the mic pres. It will work without, but you will have an impendance "dismatch" that might result in bass loss and other small artifacts.

If you have a IEEE-1394 input go for this one instead, solid as hell, nice preamps, balanced outs dual headphone jacks and DSP. 239 € is a bargain!

hey guys i'm going for TC electronic konnekt 6/konnekt 8.i'm gonna use them with laptop.i'm in real confusion because of the comments in the internet.you know with stability issues not only with TC but in general with soundcards with firewire on laptop/pc's.many people seems to have serious troubles getting those things work on their pc and i dont know what i'm gonna do.

do you guys know if the situation with TC electronic soundcards is better now?because most of the negative comments came from 2007/2008/09 and maybe the drivers are more stable now.

i have a toshiba laptop with 2 core duo 2ghz cpu,4gb ram,RICOH firewire chipset

thnx in advise

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a USB audio interface in the price range up to 500€ to use on my laptop.

I will also either be buying the Adam A7s or Dynaudio BM 5As. I want to mainly use VSTs in combination with several midi controllers. No hardware synths or effects are used.

I need at least 1 midi in/out for my old midi keyboard and two ins for 1 guitar and 1 mic.

Any decent cards that come into mind? Preferably the cheaper the better but it should be decent (that's why I'm willing to go up to max 500€).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

We use this one aswell, solid card with good flexibility and you get rid of the noisy mixer

I use presonus firestudio tube.
The reason i need this card is that, aside from trance, i record guitars and basses and stuff, and the tube preamp sounds killer.
It also has many many inputs, and can be used for recording a whole band.

I think that before buying a sound card (or anything, for that matter) You have to think about your needs - What kinds of inputs/outputs will you need? The quality of signal you'll be processing? your budget, preffered brand and so on.
You'll find out that by referencing your needs it'll be much easier to buy stuff, rather than getting impressed by features you'll never use.           www.myspace.com/johnnybgoodmusic
