well let me put it that way... for a pc studio RME is the way to go.. if you want to experience other intarfaces fine by me.. if you want rock solid performance with great sound than rme is your deal!

+1..even we had several saffire models coming back repair cause died..with smoke and everything..
RME got most stable drivers and clocksync so not compareable with focusrite..

I see, but I still have doubts. It would be realy nice to get rid of our Fostex VF-16 Digiport. Isn't the focusrite more flexible?
Sorry for being so into details, I think it's an interesting subject

for me an audio interface is something i like to forget i have... and rme does that i just boot the pc run the seq and make music record synths/vocals/instruments dj with traktor with 2 decks out or connect my dj controller and mix in that with headphones out having my rme mixer and matrix to route everything to everything.
easely set up my 5.1 surround mix setup for movie audio.
all that without worring for crashes or flimsy setup.
you can have much better fx in vst form than what the card offers if you feel that will offer you that somthing different ( focusrite )
all in all for me its about sgtabillity versatility and routing.. so RME was the way to go for me!

Does the RME come with a USB-Dildo? Otherwise I'm still confused on what to get haha! I get your point about the RME though, I can see why it would be a great choice, if not the obvious choice.
I will contemplate on the matter!

ah ok..i see..no the rme is a pretty hetero interface , it will get you girls not let you be a girl..

no i don`t think its a good soundcard actualy..if you got firewire get an echo audiofir or a presonus firebox instead..
otherwise , it might be a good usb interface, but the firewire onse are simply better imo..except from the system specs wich are definatly better..

NI Audio Kontrol 1 anyone familiar with it?
Can anyone say wethear its a good soundcard or is there
a better alternative in this price range (maybe EMU 0404)?
