update on m story
i got the 410 now , and the pcmcia thingy , just to discover that i have express in my laptop!
replace now takes some more time but it will be here soon
on my laptop with build in fw it didnt worked completly (i think there was some install problems..)
on friends laptop it works ok but with pops and clicks (no TI chipset either) so he cant preform with it tonight.
i will re-install windows and retry , as well will check on the TI chipset thingy once i get it , its my last hope for this card.. the good news is thats the known issue with this card so im pritty sure it will be ok

my Pc (desktop) has TI chipset and works really fine..the only thing i dislike about the 410 is that i cannot use the 4 inputs simultaneously, its either the mic inputs or the line inputs..so 2 inputs only |

yeah Maudio suckss ,, hehe
Its good for things "on the go", but for studio applications sucksssss
you cant expect from a cheap soundcard which
"does everything" -- to do it well .. thats a fact ,, and i really hate too , when they (the companies) DONT say the truth bout their products with misleading specifications ...
sold mine for festival tickets
much happier now

I have a Presonus Firebox on my PC, with 6 pin firewire port for 6 months now, everything is working perfectly, not any noise or clip, not even one single crash!
By the way...thanks for the advice to my mate Orange |

I have Echo Audiofire 2 and im experiencing some problems.
When i start Cubase sx3 and start working i get pops and clips. i dont get CPU overload, but at moments playback stops, cpu meter dissapears as there is no CPU at all. This has to be sound interface issue, because i didnt had any problems with my old Audigy 2 sound card. Ive instaled the new drivers, i hooked it up with cubase as it suppost to, but still same problem.
I should mention that i use the firewire port from my old sound card, cuz i dont have another on my pc. maybe this is the problem, but i have to be sure first. So, perhaps pcmcia card could solve the problem? any help would be grateful.
thanx

mmm... thats funny because my first sound card was a Sound Blaster Audigy EX , recently i bought a Presonus firebox , tried to connect it through the Audigy and have the same problem.
So... i think thats the problem
I removed completely the Audigy and installed an Encore PCI Firewire port on my PC.
And thats it, that works for me |

Hmm that sucks mate! I have a HP Pavillion dv6700 laptop that has an express slot and I wish to purchase MOTU UltraLite for it. Now does it mean that the express card that I need to buy for it also needs to have TI chipset on it? How does this work? I've been reading this thread for 2 days but still cannot figure out what I need to buy for myself to ensure good soundcard operability for my specs.
If I do indeed need an express card with 6 pin FireWire connector can someone tell me where I can get one with TI chipset on it?
Somebody help please |

hi ultraviolence
the Ultralite has 6 pin firewire , so you might need to purchase a card for your express slot, but i dont think that you need a TI chipset , Motu works fine with the VIA chip too
but you always can buy a card with TI on it , wont be bad either ,but dont worry, MAudio is has stability problems with this thingO
check this one , or for something similar

Lol I used to have a shaved head for years up until recently I love my dark, hence the violent nature of my name
Thanks for the response man I'm actually looking for a sound card that will allow me to run as many VSTs as possible without glitching etc. I have Edirol UA025 now (usb2) and I would like to run a few more VSTs concurrently than I can with it Is MOTU UltraLite a good choice for myself or is there a better card for my needs? |
