strange i find sylenth was good for the usual sine pitch bend kick but after it s taste.. i find most synth i use are good/decent as long as there 3 envelops , 1 for amp, 1 for click,1 for body
with so much control we can have on the sound in software, eq can be used lightly , everyhting can be fixed more or less with synthesis , the mud area, low end and highs. |

its fine dont get me wrong, it the overall filter quality of how it handles the sines i dint like, always found that i had to do more processing after to get it to punch thru a mix..
good eqs for weak kick and u wana boost yet attenuate or cut at the same time i rekon softubes Tube-tech PE 1C, waves Puig Tech EQP1A,a good ol pultek emulation or URS N series ...i found that using sylenth i would of had to include either one of them too make it punch thru for me...maybe i should teach ma self a lil better but thats the thing all the same rules apply - just sumthin about it....
but yeh obvously tweak the best u can first - without fail ul always have to eq it anyway , straight away u get confrontational witha 350-600 shitty boxy frequencies...sonnox dynamics eq deals with that region well, whilst gettin sum nice lenghlty notches in sweet spots in the lows......
have a play with sum intensive notches..

the thing is to not generate much in the mud area, a way is by using 2 synth instance , one for the attack and one for the body, that way it s easier to have really phat body . |

that plastic is what i was mentioning about - no matter where u made it ul have to process it - to remove such shite and flappy as plastic, so a key to good kick is the tweak then eq then the comp....or limit - thats another thing.........so much consideration lol we all wana sound loud and punchy yet not squished to fuk.. journey thru experimentation is all yous can dooo till ya get it right..
Nice idea pom of using two for each on sylenth but still.....
