how do u make those killer breaks using the kick in cubase....for ex...i get it when i use the time stretch in cubase but i'll have to place 2 or more wav files together to get it. In Fruity i use the arpeggiator in the channel and stretch the time as well.... but by doing all this i am not really satisfied...coz the it sounds very flat...the bass gets killed a lil bit.....im sure all of u know wat im talkin abt....is there something im missing out??? :S

						| just put the kicksample in a sampler and then trig the note as you can hear it. first something like 32th getting slower and longer.
Try around with "oneshot" plays the whole sample or "as played" plays the sample as long as you send the midinote.

If your kickdrum is not able to overlap itself it may loose the deep freq which often are only starting after 20-30ms. when the deep part of the kick would start the new kick starts again.

Or use a kick with all the deep frequency from the beginning of the sample.

or try to use a weird delay plugin like in the grm tools.. at first your delay time is short and then gets longer.
Most of my music for you to download at: http://www.subconsciousmind.ch

						| actually u can create good kick on any synthesizer,, it will be batter that others stuff like sound forge or wavelab cause the sinwave will have better low frequency that kick must have to be perfect.. but the important point in making perfect kick is get the main freaquensy peak of the kick to 54hz(+/-) it depend from bass note ... 60hz peak is not perfect ,it will be massed with the bass, u can check it by yourself, beacause lower freaquency of the bass must be 50hz, the rest of lows must be cutted.. usually i used simple spectrum analizer from cubase sx to check the peak:
 http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=check_download&ufid=05D9C5BD6E6CBC76&key=3e0c1ae9e8ac3e9c7fc1f46e3c15e1b22928e1b5

another important point,, ur kick must be about 150 ms leight(+/-) of course the 54 hz peak will work only on this leight:

 http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=check_download&ufid=9D9F1F2B2BABF3E0&key=c47f244a84fcd00e69ebc3ca8d5d84dcbaed9e82

as said before u can generate sine wave on any good synth and use after sound forge to pitch it, infected mushroom can help, but not completly...) u must trust to your ears and not the
 tutorial screanshots...

and the last main step is EQ and compress.... if ur kick is good so the cutted frequency must be 5000hz.. (about 1028 hz.. to mute the "CHPOK") 300hz-500hz , and about 94 hz for bass mass...

*********BUT ALWAYS TRUST ONLY ON YOUR HEARING!!!

 BOOOM!!!

						| Nobody seems to have mentioned Csound for designing psytrance kicks. I just created a Csound instrument that can be used to create hi-quality, pure sine-wave kicks following the basic guidelines of the Infected tutorial (except here you only get one pitch envelope, as opposed to multiple passes changing the envelope). It's very easy to come up with variations of the basic sound in the Score file and then audition them in an audio editor. Even if you only have a basic knowledge of Csound (like me) you can expand this code to generate more complex kicks.
The files are on my site:
 http://joemaffei.sitesled.com/psykick.orc
 http://joemaffei.sitesled.com/psykick.sco
(in the score I created 4 different kicks at a tempo of 140bpm)

And here's what it sounds like:
 http://joemaffei.sitesled.com/psykick.wav

 Enjoy!
