Depends on your bassline's fundamental frequency. Bare in mind that "standard" high pass cut-off frequency is the -3dB point.
Here's a list of some common notes used for bass and their resective frequencies.
Note Frequency (Hz) Wavelength (cm)
C0 16.35 2100.
C#0/Db0 17.32 1990.
D0 18.35 1870.
D#0/Eb0 19.45 1770.
E0 20.60 1670.
F0 21.83 1580.
F#0/Gb0 23.12 1490.
G0 24.50 1400.
G#0/Ab0 25.96 1320.
A0 27.50 1250.
A#0/Bb0 29.14 1180.
B0 30.87 1110.
C1 32.70 1050.
C#1/Db1 34.65 996.
D1 36.71 940.
D#1/Eb1 38.89 887.
E1 41.20 837.
F1 43.65 790.
F#1/Gb1 46.25 746.
G1 49.00 704.
G#1/Ab1 51.91 665.
A1 55.00 627.
A#1/Bb1 58.27 592.
B1 61.74 559.
C2 65.41 527.
C#2/Db2 69.30 498.
Bare in mind that you have the harmonics of the bass to consider, (unless you are using a sine wave), but its good to know what frequency area you're playing at when choosing notes.

Saii,
The fatness comes from eqing, harmonic boosting distortion and compression. Not just which synth you use.

Basically to roll it like i think you think it rolls you either side-chain the bass to the kick and play with the compressor's threshold, or put a high passed bass sound (no longer bass as it lacks lows) on top of the kick. Either way you will need to work your eq's - it is the key to making it roll well. Make sure kick and bass complement each other

Other issue could be when you either have too much low end on the kick or too little. You don't want more than 35db @ 35Hz and less
Another issue could be that you bass doesn't have enough body to roll ;-) the body is between 80 and 200hz

hi guys,
http://www.speedyshare.com/796211290.html
short mp3 Ti bassline (FO 146) plus the preset i used.
in the link is an upload of a bassline i made with the Ti. if i remember well: g1# just 16th, nothing special.
its for me now not so much about the bassline but more abt the preset. how to tweak it so it runs a bit faster.
in sample is no eq or compressor applied. only little bit of quadrafuzz, with output little bit down but with the first band a little bit pushed up. to get some more bottom.
the preset is .xml for sx3. did not find out how to get single presets instead of banks. so only usefull for sx3 users.
used a little lfo modulation to sqeeze the filtercutoff to get a bit more dry effect.
if you can you tweak it so it a runs a bit faster i would be interested to know how.
ffcourse would like to get your improved preset in return if you think its worth your time. but even more interested in knowing how to get a more funky meaty bassline.

hi everyone
i ve been trying to make a common bassline but i cant figure out how to set the notes in the key editor . It s the bassline you find for example in the track spider of new atomic pulse album multiverse . If anyone is familiar with that I would be very happy about replies
