hi D.H.P,
sounds like a typical lateny issue to me.
wot sound card you got there?

| I use M-Audio Pre USB. Not a card. It's external. I have no problems with Latency with anything else. Besides I don't think that would effect it when flattened to a.wav loop. Like I said the flattened notes are shifted to the right. Do you use the wraps?
I think the only way to make this useful is to sample each note separately rather than flatten the whole loop. I won't be buying Trilogy unles they make a good UB.
I'm having better luck with Predator.
Here's a sample of a bass I created. Please give it a listen. Does it need improvement? If so, how can I make it better?

I guess it seems kinda common now, but I like useing VB1, it can make a nice speedy dark bassline alongside eqing and lil compression, it doesnt slow my comp down, and it doesent bitch at me when i spill milk.
I like Vanguard and Poizone 2 for for making large basses, Normaly i like to use Tau2. |

I wonder how silicon sound go about their basslines, they sound pretty deep in lows. Any ideas? perhaps using subs?

@smehoparanoya : I'm listening to the PureReality track by Silicon Sound while reading your post I'm always amazed by Johannes ' production skills. True the bass line is very low, I don't know how it's done. I thing the enveloppe volume are really carefully crafted but it's just one aspect. |

just been in their site and "their" then album "TEN" is a remix album...
how can they prefer VST even they not making any music? lololol
maybe a bit like the prodigy guy who said the last album was 100% made in reason and when you read the interviews in music magazines you realise it's a damm lie..
anyway, i've got some synths but mostly i'm using VST... but that's because i'm lazy!

from that interview:
RS: I've got to ask you a geek question. You work on your laptop a lot, what software do you use on your laptop?
Liam: For this album I used Reason. It's a consumer-based product, that's very kind of like low-fi and just perfect for what I wanted to do. I started off on this Roland W30 and I've kind of ended back on the equivalent of what the W30 would be now, which to me, is Reason, a self-contained program. Obviously you can't record vocals or actual audio into it, so when I wrote all the demos on Reason and then we shifted across to ProTools and it went up another gear. That's basically how I wrote the record, all on the laptop.

I have a sample library of the raw Minimoog model D, Jupiter 8, sh-101, TB-303 oscillators (off set, so the tuning is much better) and then process with external filters to create the bass patch.
I am content with that sound.
Works a treat as a sub line on the techno/house/breaks stuff I do.
But because an audio clip is worth a million words, samples of said bass on

Hey ppl,
I just wanted to find out if it is correct to highpass at 41 Hz,since that is the lowest frequency on any acoustic bass.
Cheers |
