Just made an amazing discovery for giving more life to basslines. Im sure this has been said milions of times in this forum but il say it anyway because im excited.
Doing a simple K-BB bassline, then create another track with the same bassline BB but move it 1 beat to the right, so you have both basslines playing --BB, but as theres 2 and you moved 1 it will be BBBB. Then turn the volume down on 1 of them so its really quiet. This will give the basslinemuch more life and flow.
sorry if that explanation isnt clear, its really simple though! |

or you could just use 1 bassline with velocity to control the amp. lower the velocity on the first note after the kick.
you ain't discovered the wheel or out like that bud, no need for 2 bassline either.

I just recently started using Trilogy on intel Mac. I have to use the intel wrappers (no UB !). When I program a MIDI bass line in the Piano roll and play it goes off sync. Sounds like crap. Yet I can get a nice smooth sounding bass when played on my MIDI keyboard. It's just off sync in the loop.I Don't know why.
I found the long way around. I can bounce individual notes and get a decent sounding bassline. But I'd rather not bounce, undo,tweak,bounce...You get the picture.
Does anybody use Trilogy on intel and having a similar issue? Is there a way to get it to sync proper in the loop? Or should I ditch Trilogy and wait for a UB or Omnisphere.
And, yes, I read all 62 pages. |

I don't have Trilogy but in my Atmosphere from Spectrasonics I have a latency and off sync too.
Maybe its in every plugin from Spectrasonics??

basically the wrappers for non-UB plugins are shitty.
For example i tried to use Quadrafuzz in Cubase 4 on my intel, trough the "vst bridge" or something like that : crashes, pops n clicks...
UB plugins = powerful and stable
Non-UB plugins used through wrappers = shit |

oh also for your issue, try to use the monitoring of your soundcard instead of your sequencer one, solved some sync and latency problems for me |

Trilogy is a bit of a CPU hog. But it's only taking 10% CPU with kick and bass. I made sure all LFOs are off.
I Used freeze function in Live 7 with a loop. Still had issues. Then I Flattened it to a sampled loop Sure enough all the notes were shifted to the right. Then I set warp markers at the beginning of each note. Still bad, even worse in fact.
I think I agree with hugaw, the wrappers are shit. I don't know what makes Spectrasonics think that these wrappers are a solution. I'm glad I took the "try before buy" approuch .Spectrasonics is all wrapped up in this new plug Omnisphere that's supposed to be released in September. So I don't think they really care about Atmosphere and Trilogy. I hear they'll be discontinued and replaced by Omnisphere. Which sounds mind blowing. I'm saving my duckets for it.
Thanks FreakyFreQuencies, Cannabis, and hugaw for your replies.
I stick with Albino for now. |

Its the latency. I have this same on PC without any wrappers. When I work with Atmosphere I use Audio editor for cut it.

I think that the latency has also to do and with the drivers of your soundcard ! |

Thanks Kajola. I will try it
I hear Trilogy. It's great for bass (juno 60 sam rocks )
Anyway... somebody try TAL U-NO-60 VSTi?
It's emulation of Juno 60. Maybe Saw wave will be good like this from Trilogy?
http://kunz.corrupt.ch/?Products:VST_U-NO-60
It's free to download
D.H.T -> I think if only Trilogy have big latency, it cant be problem in soundcard. Soundcard can take latency to whole project not to only one track in song. I can be wrong but that I think
